Gallifrey One Review Appitizer (sorry so late)
The Sonic ToolboxAck! Sorry this is several days late, but we had technical difficulties posting anything from the hotel down in LA. I (Daisy) just got home in the wee hours this morning. It's all a bit raw, but look at is as guerrilla podcasting.
We had a wonderful time at Gally this year. Made a lot of new friends and missed a lot of panels that we wanted to see. This mini-episode is just a taste of the review we will be doing in our regularly scheduled time slot.
Once again, sorry for the delay. I hope to get better equipment for next year.
A very late mini episode:
-
024 Blake's 7 (The Web - Seek-Locate-Destroy)
theTimeVaultThe pressure's starting to get to them. After spending the day fending off mind control, genocide, girl on girl action, little squeaky white things and an angry midget in a fish tank, the crew of the Liberator go a bit bonkers; listening to a stolen radio, catching amnesia (all of them) and stealing from an - understandably - angry motorcycle courier who seems to have lost his bike. They're just a bunch of hooligans really.

Geek Invasion: The SFX Weekender 2012
Geek SyndicateThe GS crew were out in serious force at the SFX Weekender event this year. Did you spot us all? Well one week later Barry and his syndicated geeks Amy, Ant, Clover, Dion, Matt (The Grampus) and Phil got back around the mic to talk through our experiences in North Wales, good and bad. You'll find out what it's really like to attend one of the best geek Events in Britain, how to survive it and how to get the best bang for your buck.
The episode is a biggie so clear your schedules or, if you'd prefer, nibble us piecemeal as we wade through the major events, guest stars and surprise hits of the show.
Along the way we don hotpants, duck time-travelling ninjas, achieve total-toilet-ambush and discover the voice of a sex-god... among many other treats.
We mention YouTube videos that have since become available, so you can see some of the delights on offer. Click here to see a bunch of them.
The Weekender is truly an event to be experienced. Join us here to help relive the great times you had, or see what you missed out on. Either way, hopefully we will see you all there in 2013.

Episode 62: Gallifrey 23
The TARDIS TavernThis past weekend marked the 23rd Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles and, once again, we attended the festivities with hopes of bringing the fun to those of our listeners who could not make it. We were a bit more successful this year than last year (which was more like The Lost Weekend than a Doctor Who convention), and on Saturday night we hosted an impromptu "live recording" in our room. Free booze was provided, thus attendance was somewhat decent.
Our guests included our own roving reporter Andre Tessier (@AndreT_NY), Paul and Pete of The Pharos Project podcast (@KungFuYoda and @beastmasterpete respectivley), Nicole (@boozeleprechaun), Sarah (@sourcitruslady), Melissa (@Bellaira), John (Twitter handle unknown at this time, but we bet he has one), our friend Bob from Houston, and our hotel neighbors Miranda and Sam who came crossplaying as the Seventh Doctor and Ace.
In the coming months we hope to present you with a bit more that we collected from Gallifrey, but for now sit back and relax and listen to our impressions of the first two days.
Facebook, GetGlue, blah blah blah, you know the drill. Follow us on Twitter at @tardistavern and @tardistaverntit and, as a result of our activities throughout the weekend, we will accept process of service via email at tardistavern@gmail.com.

The Doctor Who PodcastAs everyone comes down off their post-Gallifrey 23 buzz, the team at The Doctor Who Podcast embarks on a mini project – over the next two episodes we will be looking at the era of John Nathan-Turner, the longest serving producer of Doctor Who, and a figure that has been the subject of equal parts derision and praise ever since he took on the role in the early 1980s.
In this episode Leeson and Tom look at how John Nathan-Turner came to take on the role of Producer, and his time on the show up to the end of the Peter Davison era.
Ian and Michele also review the first half of the JNT Memoirs, a release from Big Finish (sadly no longer available) where John Nathan-Turner shares his candid memories of his time on the show.

Bigger on the InsideIn "Time and The Rani," Sylvester McCoy, the final classic-era Doctor, makes his not-so-grand debut by wearing a Colin Baker wig, pratfalling, playing the spoons, screwing up common phrases, and stopping The Rani by letting her escape. Also, Dan has feelings about the opening credits (and they're not warm or fuzzy), and an old friend returns to the show.
