Episode 14: Love and War
The Doctor Who Book Club PodcastFebruary's episode is a very special one: we recorded during Gallifrey 23 with our good friend and listener Erika (known as @HollyGoDarkly on Twitter and the reader for our review of Alien Bodies). The three of us crowded around a single microphone in a lonely hotel room whilst the party started gearing up in the lobby downstairs. The topic: Love and War, the Virgin New Adventure by Paul Cornell. And, yes...there is a bit of a dip in the audio quality in this episode, but it was well worth the result in quality. From the back cover:
On a planet called Heaven, all hell is breaking loose.
Heaven is a paradise for both humans and Draconians -- a place of rest in more ways than one. The Doctor comes here on a trivial mission -- to find a book, or so he says -- and Ace, wandering alone in the city, becomes involved with a charismatic Traveller called Jan.
But the Doctor is strenuously opposed to the romance. What is he trying to prevent? Is he planning some more deadly game connected with the mysterious objects causing the military forces of Heaven such concern?
Archaeologist Bernice Summerfield thinks so. Her destiny is inextricably linked with that of the Doctor, but even she may not be able to save Ace from the Time Lord's plans.
This time, has the Doctor gone too far?

Doctor Who - Who's He? #50 The first thing I met, was a fly with a buzz
Who's He?The reviewing duo of of Phil and Paul press on with the next phase of their retrospective with a look at the first of the 2009 specials, Planet of The Dead. This is a most divisive podcast and Paul rather enjoys it and Phil detests it but all this makes Phil wax lyrical about the rich tapestry of the human race but veers dangerously close to one those awful episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation where Data explores what it's like to be human. And in the news this week, series 7 casting news, the end of the Adventure Games and Doctor Who tat.

Radio Free Skaro #299 - Star Trek XII: So Very Tired
Radio Free SkaroGally is over for another year. While the Three Who Rule briefly reminisce about the glory that was Gallifrey One's Network 23 in this episode of Radio Free Skaro, it's back to normal for podcaster and listener alike for the next few months - at least until next year's The 24 Hours of Gallifrey One, or y'know, until the new series of Doctor Who starts in the autumn. To help us get back into the swing of things, we present to you a commentary on the 2011 Doctor Who Christmas special, The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe, as well as a smattering of news and views of what was missed while we were all living it up at Gally.
Sigh...we miss Gally.
