Ob sich das nur auf die Optik auswirkt oder sich auch inhaltlich niederschlägt, verraten Euch in dieser Episode des Whocasts Lukas und Raphael mit ihrem Review der ersten Folge “Regeneration”.

42 to Doomsday - Remember When
42 To DoomsdayEpisode 86 - In the first of a new and (hopefully) semi-regular segment we talk to ex-Grumpcaster and occasional Something Whoer Mike (aka Servo Robot) on his early memories of watching the programme. What was it like to live through Dalekmania? Is Wheel in Space any good? How exciting was it to watch Invasion of the Dinosaurs episode 1 (in full colour)? and why is Mike cursed to have seen The Space Pirates not once, but twice!! Mike shares his research on Doctor Who transmissions in Australia, in particular new information about how remote mining companies got to see TV in the early 70’s. And finally, riddle me this - how can a Doctor Who story with only one print be shown on the same day across three different time zones (*cough Duplicate Prints cough*) And what treasures could exist in the store...Bond store!

Episode 207: The Masque of Mandragora OR IO Demnos! We Invoke Thee!
PodcasticaIt's been a weird week, friends. Taylor had a birthday and a massive synchronicity with this week's story! John's been swamped with work and had his mixer die on him (think 5th Doctor console explosions)! Despite all that, we review THE MASQUE OF MANDRAGORA! The Doctor and Sarah Jane accidentally take an ancient entity to 15th century Italy where it quickly gets involved with an underground cult that worships Demnos. Will the Mandragora Helix use its Palpatine-like energy to halt the progress of humanity, keeping it trapped in the Dark Ages? Or will the Doctor and his super rad lion mask ultimately save the day?!

TDP 958: #DoctorWho OUT OF TIME 1 from @Bigfinish
Tin Dog PodcastThis title was released in August 2020. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until October 31st 2020, and on general sale after this date. The Cathedral of Contemplation is an enigma, existing outside time. It turns through history, opening its doors across the universe to offer solace to those in need. Occasionally, the Doctor drops in – when he's avoiding his destiny, it’s an ideal place to get some perspective. Only this time he's already there from several lives earlier, so when dimension barriers break down, his past and present collide. And when the Daleks invade and commandeer the Cathedral, two Doctors must unite to stop them – or face extermination twice over!

Big Finish, Call Me Now
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastIt’s Easter 2009, and here we are, huddling in a bus with Michelle Ryan and friend-of-the-podcast Simon Moore on the desert planet San Helios, with the sun in our eyes, hope in our hearts and a hundred billion dead people in our hair. It’s the first special episode of David Tennant’s final year: welcome to the Planet of the Dead.
Notes and links
Planet of the Dead was in some ways inspired by Gareth Roberts’s first Virgin New Adventure novel The Highest Science, which was first published in February 1993.
Transport nerds like James will be keen to learn more about the route followed by the 200 bus in our own non-_Doctor Who_ universe.
Although Big Finish is yet to release its series of box sets starring Noma Dumezmeni as Erisa Magambo, Michelle Ryan’s Lady Christina is now an official Big Finish property, with a box set of her own released in August 2018.
Simon points out the similarities between this story and the story of The Flight of the Phoenix by Elleston Trevor, first published in 1964 and turned into a film starring Jimmy Stewart in 1965.
The best source of background information about the 2009 specials is of course Russell T Davies’s own account of their production, The Writer’s Tale. The section on this episode is particuarly harrowing.
And finally, the banterous relationship between the Doctor and Lady Christina is inspired by a similar relationship between Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn in Charade (1963).
