3.8 Time Lord Victorious (part one)
Doctor Who - Pieces of EighthPIECES of Eighth ventures into that multi-platform release from 2020 and 2021 this week, as we uncover some of the secrets of Time Lord Victorious.
Over the next two episodes, we'll feature all of the Eighth Doctor's stories from the run, starting this week with Big Finish vinyl release Echoes of Extinction - which featured Paul McGann and David Tennant, and have an exclusive chat with its writer, Alfie Shaw, speaking about the release for the first time ever on a podcast.
Kenny and Becca are joined by another co-host this week, in the form of Matt Michael (who you may know from his reviews in Doctor Who Magazine), as they look at Big Finish audio pair He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not and The Enemy of My Enemy, before having a chat with musician Ioan Morris, who created the amazing score for the audio stories.

Mr and Mrs Teller
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastNathan, James, Peter and Simon come to in a bare darkened room full of mid-range sound recording equipment with no memory at all of how they got there, only to find — to their horror — that they have agreed to podcast about our next Doctor Who episode, Time Heist.
Notes and links
In a discussion of this very straightforward episode, there’s nothing specifically intertextual or in need of explanatory notes. So you get the week off this week. Or, if you like, you could listen to Untitled Star Trek Project’s take on Star Trek’s take on the heist movie, Deep Space Nine’s Badda-Bing Badda-Bang.
It’s just possible that the Doctor’s “shutetty up up up” owes more than a little to Malcolm Tucker’s famous farewell in In the Loop (2009).
Follow us
Nathan is on Twitter as @nathanbottomley, James is @ohjamessellwood, and Simon is @simonmoore72. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook and Mastodon, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on Apple Podcasts, or we’ll menace you with a Dyson handheld for lying to us about your bank balance.
And more
You can find Jodie into Terror, our flashcast on the entirety of the Whittaker Era of Doctor Who, at jodieintoterror.com, at @JodieIntoTerror on Twitter, on Apple Podcasts, and wherever podcasts can be found. We’ll be back with a new flashcast on the second Russell T Davies era in November.
Our James Bond commentary podcast is called Bondfinger, and you can find that at bondfinger.com, at @bondfingercast on Twitter, on Apple Podcasts, and everywhere else as well.
We can also be heard on the Blakes 7 podcast Maximum Power, which has completed its coverage of the first half of the show’s entire run. Recording is continuing on schedule, and our coverage of Series C should be ready for you later in the year.
There’s also our Star Trek commentary podcast, Untitled Star Trek Project, featuring Nathan and friend-of-the-podcast Joe Ford. In our most recent episode, we welcomed Seven of Nine to the Voyager family in the two-part season finale/season opener, Scorpion.

Episode 548 – Episode of the Damned
Traveling the Vortex
This week we look at some more comics as part of our year-long celebration of Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary. This time we review the Fourth Doctor adventure, ‘City of the Damned’. While it may not precisely connect to ‘Star Beast’, which was the first to feather Beep the Meep, it is one of two stories leading into that story. Also, a comic that does directly link to the 60th anniversary, because it is currently ongoing, we review the first four parts of ‘Liberation of the Daleks’, which is being published in Doctor Who Magazine and features a new adventure for the Fourteenth Doctor.
Plus, a look at the news of the week, including the announcement of a renowned American actor Jonathan Groff.
And we have some news concerning the upcoming Doctoberfest, Who North America’s annual three-day festival celebrating Doctor Who fandom taking place in Hendricks County, Indiana, You’ll have to listen to find out who.
Enjoy!

Bane and the Pykes confront Fett, Shand, and Djarin outside the remains of the Sanctuary, where Bane reveals that the Pykes killed Fett's Tusken tribe and framed the biker gang. The other crime families betray Fett and attack his soldiers throughout Mos Espa. In Mos Eisley, Shand kills the Pyke boss, Shaiz, and the other crime lords. As Mos Espa praises Fett, Djarin and Grogu fly away in their N-1 starfighter. Later, Vanth heals in Fett's bacta tank with the mod artist standing nearby.

Episode 77: Absolutely Capital!
Something WhoJust a week after we gave you the first half, here's the original Something Who team chatting again about a couple of stories that are capitalist allegories. We finish off our look at 4th Doctor story The Sunmakers from Season 15, and then move onto 12th Doctor outing Oxygen from Series 10.
As ever, keep listening to the end for our outtakes.
Please like or share our podcast with people who will enjoy it, so we can build our listener base high for happiness. You can rate us directly on Apple Podcasts or Podchaser.com
Giles' book A History of the Universe in 21 Stars: (and 3 Imposters) can be found in all good bookshops and also here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/History-Universe-21-Stars-Imposters/dp/1787394654/
Head over to https://www.bigfinish.com/, where we all love Paul's stories.
Richard has another podcast with new co-host Nicola, called "If It's Hurting, It's not Working" and it's a fun and informative look at work - why we work, how we work, and what makes a great job. And also what makes a great workplace, how to turn things round when we're not enjoying our work and, in the end, how we can all make our work better. Go to https://ifhurtnotwork.podbean.com/ and https://ifhurtnot.work for more.
The opening music is Three Guitars Mood 2 and, yes, that is Richard playing the ukulele and kazoo on possibly the worst ever version of the Doctor Who theme tune at the end.
Our cover art was designed for us by Bea Garrido. She's a really talented artist, who you can find on Twitter using @BeaGarrido00, where, among other artworks, you can get hold of the prints of some remarkable paintings of characters from Doctor Who.

Podcastica Episode 251: The Hand of Fear OR Eldrad and The Ring Pop of Power
PodcasticaELDRAD MUST LIVE! Yes, this week we take a look at Sarah Jane's final story, The Hand of Fear. The Doctor and Sarah Jane find themselves in the middle of a quarry (not surprising) during an explosion (fairly surprising) that dislodges part of an ancient silicon-based lifeform (definitely surprising) that’s been buried in there for millions of years. Turns out this Thing impersonator from the Addams Family is called Eldrad. Eldrad likes long walks up to nuclear power stations, possessing humans to do its bidding, absorbing radiation over a nice dinner, and apparently trying to get revenge on its own people!
