It's just a spring clean for the May Queen
Who's He?This week Phil and Paul tackle the Target novelisation of The Awakening, that "ahem", fondly remembered 5th Doctor story written by Eic Pringle. During their discussion, they talk about cadaverous old men, cavaliers and roundheads and Phil laments that this was a missed opportunity for Doctor Who to reference one of his favourire horror films.
And in the news, a new series 9 trailer, the air time on BBC America for The Magicians Apprentice, Strax meets Jago and Litefoot in a Big Finish story and in Omega's Tat Corner, it's a tat update!

Radio Free Skaro #490 - Smoke on the Water
Radio Free SkaroAnother Hugos has come and gone, and with it two-thirds of the Radio Free Skaro crew can cross “host pre and post show at the Hugos and ad-lib for almost a half hour during same” off their bucket list. Though the Hugos were…dogged with controversy, in the eye of the storm all was calm and in fact Steven and Warren (along with Verity’s own Erika Ensign) were pleased to attend their first Worldcon, an international celebration of science fiction and fantasy that pre-dates (and was interrupted by) World War II! And as if that wasn’t enough, the Two and Verity Who Rule bring you all the latest Doctor Who news, of which there is a smattering! Enjoy!

Doctor Who - Ep192: Is it Sutekh or not?
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastWelcome to Episode 192...
The News
This year's San Diego Comic Con will see the first panel featuring the new cast and producers from the new series of Who. Can we expect a trailer?Merch Corner
The fan fiction book The Temporal Logbook II: Further Journeys is out now with all proceeds going to charity; Robert Harrop preview the Second Doctor and K9 and the Series 11 dvd and blu rays are already up for pre-order!"The Impossible Planet" Review
Often viewed as a cool story within a mediocre series (not our opinion of course), it's about time we tackled this creepy two-parter. An enjoyable one or are we watching through the gaps in our fingers? Thank you for joining us for 192. Next week we're back to The Sarah Jane Adventuress and Warriors of Kudlak. Have a great week and until next time - Allons-y!

Episode 184: The Song of DoctorDonnaFriend
The Sonic ToolboxPlanet of the Ood. That's what's going on here. We can't believe we haven't reviewed this since it first aired. So, we're remedying that this episode. Ooooood. Just love saying it. Also, sorry we forgot to tell you about it last time in our Next Time segment that we forgot to do. Ooooooops. So if you haven't seen it yet, don't listen to this show until you have. There's tons of spoilers, we don't watch what we say. Course, we seem to have a problem with that in general.
We also have a bit of news. And a bit of rabbit chasing.

The World Is a Vampire (Moleman)
Doctor WhoochIn which we bid Devin adieu as we send him into the SEA...
...of our gratitude. Also, it is his last episode for now. Sad faces all around!
Well, it has come to this. The last episode of Miracle Day, and the last episode of Torchwood. It has been a ride. As Danica and Brandon bid a fond farewell to their season long guest, they all endure and episode where there is a lot of blood, and the world has two buttholes. And if you control the buttholes, you control the world, but only if you have special blood? Torchwood is wild, y'all. And there wasn't even a lizard people conspiracy!

Episode 83: Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle
Trust Your DoctorAnd then like magic, it works! Guaranteed, every time.
This week Kiyan and Dylan return to their regularly scheduled host set-up with just the two of them attempting to explain a serial once again. This week the serial at hand is Terror of the Zygons, which was written by Robert Banks Stewart and aired in August and September of 1975. Harry Sullivan leaves in this episode, so there’s a retrospective at the end of the episode.
This was the base Dylan was referring to. Apparently it appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me, and not the one with the lotus (You Only Live Twice). The Bond Films all kind of blend together at some point.

Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we’re off to the planet Karn for wine, cheese and cyanide with Dr Mehendri Solon and his pet brain-in-a-jar Morbius. And Sarah Jane Smith has never had so much fun!
Buy the story!
The Brain of Morbius was released on DVD in 2008. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)
Notes and links
As usual, the first thing we do with a Hinchcliffe story is to work out which classic horror films it’s, er, paying homage to. This time, it’s the films of James Whale — Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935). James Whale’s own story is told in Gods and Monsters (1998), where he is played by Doctor Who’s very own Sir Ian McKellen. (He did a voiceover in The Snowmen. That totally counts.)
Pieter Bruegel painted three pictures of the Tower of Babel, all of which look very much like Solon’s castle.
Fans of the hilarious way Nathan continually mixes up the names of Doctor Who stories will enjoy how, in his incisive analysis of this season’s terrible flaws, he manages to refer to The Android Invasion as Invasion of the Dinosaurs. And Brendan will try and muscle in on the action later on by calling The Seeds of Doom The Seeds of Death. Aren’t we silly?
For once, Elizabeth Sandifer is not actually responsible for the rule Nathan quotes about canon: it’s part of this brilliant anti-canon rant on the sadly defunct Teatime Brutality blog.
Follow us!
Brendan is on Twitter as @brandybongos, Nathan is @nathanbottomley, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Richard is @RichardLStone. You can follow the podcast on Twitter as @FTEpodcast.

Doctor Who: Verity!Remember back when we promised to do a couple commentaries as a thank you to our FABULOUS PATREON PATRONS? Well, trust us, we did. And better late than never? Here's the first one! Join Deb, Erika, Katrina, and Lizbeth as we discuss "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship": the dinosaurs, the spaceship, Amy-as-Doctor, pretty-people-bias, "comedy" robots, and so much Rupert Graves. Also, a serious anti-cookie agenda.
Are you a fan of this story? Or does it annoy you like it does at least one of the Verities? Let us know in the comments!
