Pharos Project 78: Bantha Poodoo
The Pharos Project PodcastIn part two of our very own Star Wars Trilogy, the Projecteers brave the Great Pit of Carkoon. Well, watching the prequels again does at points resemble being slowly digested over a 1000 years. No Star Wars music this week, instead the tracks featured combine to form a coded message to George Lucas. See if you can decipher it's complex meaning!

Don't dig there, dig it elsewhere
Who's He?After two weeks of audio commentary, Phil and Paul return to reviewing duties with a look back at The Hungry Earth. However, neither of them can work up much enthusiasm for this story as not a lot really happens apart from some gaping holes in logic. So the result is an underwhelming and rather dull podcast. Sorry folks.
But during this weeks news items, Phil makes his own entertainment by convincing Paul that he's always wanted to keep fish in a Doctor Who themed aquarium.
We also have to apologise for the sound quality in the news section as Phil had his micrphone on the wrong setting. The berk.

FRS 25: 'Spearhead from Space ' Part Two. Jon Pertwee
Fast Return SwitchWurzel puts his Spear head on once again as we unleash part two of the Pertwee classic. I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t remember the end of this story that clearly. Turns out I fell asleep! Rum was a bad choice. You need not fear though as Masters Fanton, Munro and Weston do a fine job of keeping things entertaining in my unfortunate and slightly embarrassing absence. When will I learn? Probably never.
Love ya!

019 Doctor Who (The Space Pirates)
theTimeVaultHow come metal wigs never took off as a fashion accessory? They're shiny, long lasting (barring rust), work brilliantly as a hard hat, available in different styles (the one being modelled here is in a rather attractive beehive with parting) and you can decorate them yourself. Okay, you'll never be able to look down without falling over and fridge magnets will suddenly become a nuisance but that's not many downsides.

Episode 11: Alien Bodies
The Doctor Who Book Club PodcastFor November, 2011, Erik has chosen the epic Alien Bodies by Lawrence Miles. Few books have such a brilliant reputation than this one, so we're looking forward to next month's recording. From the back cover:
On an island in the East Indies, in a lost city buried deep in the heart of the rainforest, agents of the most formidable powers in the galaxy are gathering. They have been invited there to bid for what could turn out to be the deadliest weapon ever created.
When the Doctor and Sam arrive in the city, the Time Lord soon realises they've walked into the middle of the strangest auction in history — and what's on sale to the highest bidder is something more horrifying than even the Doctor could have imagined, something that could change his life forever.
And just when it seems things can't get any worse, the Doctor finds out who else is on the guest list.
Alien Bodies is a milestone in the Eighth Doctor series because it introduces us to Faction Paradox, who became important later in the series. And this is just our opinion, but ten will get you twenty that Steven Moffat has been inspired by this one.
Lawrence Miles also penned the Interference books for the BBC New Adventures and Christmas on a Rational Planet for the Virgin New Adventures, among others. He has an infamous reputation in the fan community for being critical of the current series, but we really hope he doesn't burn any of his bridges: Alien Bodies could easily be an Eleventh Doctor story, and it could easily become the next Human Nature and find a slot in the series.
Please come and join us on Facebook follow us on twitter via @dwbcpodcast. You can also follow Erik via @sjcaustenite and Sean via @tardistavern.
