    17:05 (GMT) - 29 Jan 2017

Having recovered (barely) from the sexy-sexy 'Cyberlady' of last week, the Metebelis 2 journey back to the early days of the Cybermen to discuss the 1960s cyber-stories. Along the way, they praise the incidental stock music, congratulate Who monsters and their graphic designing minions, and speculate if dentistry is compatible with cyber technology. Intro-music is from "Power Drill" by Douglas Gamley, which was heard in "The Tenth Planet". Outro-music is the classic 1960 Cyberman theme, "Space Adventures part 2" by Martin Slavin. Also heard along the way is "Muzak" from "Time in Advance" by John Baker from "The Invasion".

You shouldn’t mess with the power of Malcolm, it might kill you.

This week we’re on the downslope for season 24 already. We’re already 3/4 of the way through the serial, although if they had done a 6 part serial we’d be done already. Wouldn’t that be great? It’s Delta and the Bannerman, written by Malcolm Kohll, and aired in November of 1987.

    Show-notes:

04:36 Now only a $100 value! Sure must be the happiest place on earth for whoever’s raking in all this money.
    12:00 OG version’s the best.
30:43 Wow, 2009 camcorder-vision. Still not the stupidest answer on this show sadly.

This week, Brendan, Nathan and Todd are back to review the Cybermen’s 1985 compilation album Attack of the Cybermen, in which the band revisit all their classic hits from the 1960s, including Another Planet (1966), Clever Clever Clever (1967), You Belong to Us (1967), Initiate Plan Three (1968) and perennial fan favourite It Has Been Agreed (1968). Not all of us appreciate the nostalgia.

Doctor Who: The Complete History is a series of beautifully produced hardback books chronicling the entire history of the programme, from its first beginnings to the present day.

Brendan mentions an adorable photo of TV’s Starbucks Dirk Benedict and Katee Sackoff drinking Starbucks at Starbucks. Katee Sackoff’s current Twitter profile picture is equally adorable.

Brendan would just like to take this opportunity to plug the book Hating to Love: Re-evaluating the Worst 52 Doctor Who Stories of All Time, in which he tries to redeem, excuse or explain seven somewhat unloved Doctor Who stories. The book was edited by JR Southall, of Blue Box Podcast fame.

This week, Brendan, Nathan and Todd are back to review the Cybermen's 1985 compilation album Attack of the Cybermen, in which the band revisit all their classic hits from the 1960s, including Another Planet (1966), Clever Clever Clever (1967), You Belong to Us (1967), Initiate Plan Three (1968) and perennial fan favourite It Has Been Agreed (1968). Not all of us appreciate the nostalgia.

    Buy the story!

Attack of the Cybermen was released on DVD in 2009. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)

    Notes and links

Doctor Who: The Complete History is a series of beautifully produced hardback books chronicling the entire history of the programme, from its first beginnings to the present day.

Brendan mentions an adorable photo of TV's Starbucks Dirk Benedict and Katee Sackoff drinking Starbucks at Starbucks. Katee Sackoff's current Twitter profile picture is equally adorable.

Brendan would just like to take this opportunity to plug the book Hating to Love: Re-evaluating the Worst 52 Doctor Who Stories of All Time, in which he tries to redeem, excuse or explain seven somewhat unloved Doctor Who stories. The book was edited edited by JR Southall, of Blue Box Podcast fame.

Episode 126 is here and it’s full of Doctor Who goodness starting with the news…

    The News

Unfortunately we say goodbye to a couple of people; Rodney Bennett passed away aged 81, Rodney directed ten classic stories, namely the awesome The Ark in Space. Philip Bond also passed away aged 81, he played Ganatus in the first five episodes of the Hartnell story The Daleks.

More fan submissions needed! This time for the upcoming book Time Shadows 2 which, like the first edition, is raising money for charity. They are looking for submissions for their short story anthology released by Psuedoscope Publishing. You can check the details here.

    Merch Corner

We talk through the upcoming releases from Character for 2017 including new figures, sonic’s, journals and, believe it or not, a stretchy Cyberman!

    “The Curse of Peladon” Review

It’s felt like ages since we reviewed a Pertwee story so it’s great to be talking through “Curse” (we’ll leave reviewing The Monster of Peladon for a while ;-)). Quirky aliens, a “who dunnit” plot, political undertones, Venusian akido and some rather silly voices. The ingredients are all there for a great classic Who story but does it all come together or are we stranded on the cliff in the wind and rain?

Thank you for listening and for sending in your thoughts. Next week it’s the 11th Doctor story Night Terrors so look out for the Facebook post to give us your mini-reviews. Until then have an awesome week and remember – Allons-y!

It's time for episode 191 of The Oncoming Storm! Everyone is super excited to dig into this month's audios... well, most of the team. Josh, Rachel, and Jeff can't wait to get started, but, you guessed it, Ashley is missing again! Okay, not missing exactly, he's in San Francisco, running after a beryllium clock or kissing redheads or something. So what is he missing? Oh, just the culmination of almost 10 years of Big Finish stories! That's right, first up is Project: Destiny by Mark Wright and Cavan Scott, which sees Hex finally find out about his mom and her connection to the Doctor! After that bit of serious drama, how about a detour with pink, vampire hamster toys? Cuddlesome by Nigel Fairs features the 5th Doctor facing an army of the buggers! And finally it's The Doomsday Chronometer by Matt Fitten, the 3rd story in Doom Coalition 3, and we finally have River and the 8th Doctor face to face! It's a night of big moments, so of course Ashley misses it. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got killer, pink, vampire hamster toys. They're so ridiculous that we had to mention them twice!
