These aren't the kind of people he can change
Who's He?This week the lads bring you their first audio commentary in 5 months and it's for Ghost Light! This of course means the return of Tony to the podcasting gang, who brings his usual blend of facts, bewielderment and ignorance. What I am trying to say is that he hasn't changed a bit!! However, after a 5 month break from providing an audio commentary, Phil, Paul and Tony realise they may have made a mistake in selecting this story and begin to struggle heroically with it, while Tony uses the opportunity to ask the listeners questions simply because he can't be bothered to look up the answers himself. And during the course of the commentary, it slowly dawns on Phil that he doesn't really like Ghost Light. Heretic!!
And in the news this week, the tickets for the 50th Anniversary Convention finally go on sale, the BBC shelves any further plans for 3D projects after the 50th anniversary and in strange news of the week it is revealed that Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby were considered for the role of the Doctor in a 1980's proposed Hollywoodisation of the show. Shamone!!

Radio Free Skaro #374 - The Inside Story
Radio Free SkaroThe Three Who Rule went west to Westercon this week, special guests of the 66th edition of one of the longest running science fiction conventions in the world. Much fun was had, much sun was enjoyed, and all three of the RFS hosts were very active on a variety of panels throughout the weekend. One such panel devoted to the history of Radio Free Skaro is presented in this episode, in which the past seven years of RFS podcasts are recounted, the highs, the lows, from humble beginnings to the recent triumphs of today (what other podcast has had a commentary of Delta and the Bannermen, we ask you?). We hope you enjoy our introspective look at a podcast that we truly do enjoy producing every week to hopefully entertain and distract you from your minor inconveniences.

DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 035 - Stage Fright
Diddly Dum PodcastHayden and Matt’s recent visit to the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular set them pondering as to whether Doctor Who works in a stage format. Therefore, in this week’s podcast, the Four Faces of Delusion look at the history of Doctor Who on stage – Curse of the Daleks, Seven Keys to Doomsday, The Ultimate Adventure, The Trial of Davros and Doctor Who Live: The Monsters are Coming.
Along the way we see C3PO and Princess Leia go toe to toe with Nick Briggs, Murray Gold “accidentally” bumps into Hayden and insists on a selfie with the noted podcaster, we learn of the Satanic message hidden within the Series 8 music when played backwards, Matt reveals his secret for getting Doctor Who Proms tickets, we explore the links between Peter Miles and Peter Gabriel and Doc explains the Rule of Seven in TV sci-fi. Arm yourself for future pub quizzes as we work out which was the first ever scene in which a Doctor kisses a companion – and it isn’t what you might think (Benton doesn’t count as a companion).

Of course she's not just a painting but some sort of alien creature trapped in the paint that has come to life and is looking for some family. Luckily Sarah Jane Smith and her crew are there to stop her... though Sarah might be a little hung up...

Scrolls Book Group: The Heroes
Geek SyndicateTime is ticking away, the latest 'normal' episode in in editorial limbo and we haven't yet recorded our usual Christmas mayhem, so here's another Book Group episode to keep you all going. The Heroes could perhaps be described as Sharpe's Waterloo done fantasy-style. Joe Abercrombie uses it to explore the subject of heroism with all its wrinkles and contradictions. Set in the same world as the acclaimed First Law Trilogy, Abercrombie introduces a whole new batch characters in such a way that enables new readers to get straight into it, whilst rewarding long-time fans with a few familiar faces. If you haven't read his stuff before, we're talking a gritty fantasy adventure, full of dark humour and harsh justice. The focus is always on the characters (a particular strength of this author), with vigorous prose and a suitably cynical tone.
We recommend you read the book before listening to this episode as Spoilers were pretty much unavoidable. The programme is hosted by Scrolls regulars Dion and Clover, who are joined by Geek Syndicate's very own Barry Nugent and long-time listener Louise Maskill. Louise is an avid reader of Fantasy fiction, works as a free-lance editor and has just published her own book about Sussex Dialect (with a similar Norfolk one on the way.) She is currently working on her first novel. Publishers, take note.If you want to carry on the conversation, you can post your comments, thoughts and alternative viewpoints under this article. We welcome your feedback. Taking a leaf from the Comic Book Outsiders, we're actually going to start letting you all know in advance what books are coming up. (Yes, we have been THAT stupid) With that in mind, you may wish to pick up or re-read American Gods by Neil Gaiman in time for our February episode. We always like to involve YOU in the book group, so let us know if you want to take part in that episode. Don't fancy that one? Then put on your thinking cap and send us the name of the book you would like to discuss. You can e-mail us directly at scrolls@hotmail.co.uk or tweet @Dion_Scrolls if you prefer. Who knows, it could be you joining us in the May Book Group.

Small Press Big Mouth - Episode 41
Geek SyndicateWelcome to Episode 41 of Small Press Big Mouth! This episode has Lee and Stace review some comics (I bet you weren't expecting THAT shiz!) and they chat about Thoughtbubble and The British Comic Awards. This episode was recorded before Stace got good and angry about the shitty publicity surrounding the Awards, so is much less ranty than you might be expecting. Sorry if that is any way disappointing to you, she really does like listening to a good rant and suspects you are quite a lot like her secretly, and she will try and get good and ranty about another topic next time.

Episode 135: When Sydney Met Verity
The TARDIS TavernThe 50th anniversary of Doctor Who brought us a literal trifecta for the fans on the big as well as the small screens. There was, obviously, "The Day of The Doctor", Peter Davison's The Fiveish Doctors, and the BBC docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time.
For those of you that haven't been listening to this podcast for the last year and a half, we both think An Adventure in Space and Time is pretty much required viewing for anyone with a pulse, let alone anyone who has the slightest bit of interest in Doctor Who. So please listen in as we talk about William Hartnell, Verity Lambert, Sydney Newman, and the genesis of the show we've dedicated so much time to.
