That’s Not Even a Proper Commentary
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastIt’s Christmas in July and an apocalyptically hot day in London. Still, Nathan, James, Todd and Peter have been cordially invited to attend the wedding of that guy off EastEnders and the incomparable Catherine Tate. Things don’t go quite according to plan. It’s The Runaway Bride.
Follow us
Nathan is on Twitter as @nathanbottomley, James is @ohjamessellwood, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Peter still can’t be persuaded to open a Twitter account. Very wise. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam, and the strings performance was by Jane Aubourg. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll ask you to be our bridesmaid so that we can dress you up in something that makes you look like an angry apricot.

#121 - Jungle Daleks of Jungolus
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2The Metebelis Two Ace retrospective continues this week with a discussion about The Genocide Machine, which was the second Big Finish release to feature Ace. The story is very reminiscent of a Terry Nation story with all that entails. So, a jungle planet with Daleks and rather one-dimensional supporting characters. With the Daleks return for the first time since Remembrance was this story able to deliver? The opening sound is a gentle rain fall. Closing music is the Eurythmics' song "Here Comes the Rain Again" from 1983.

Radio Free Skaro #698 – Chromophonic Workshop
Radio Free SkaroWho would have thought we’d see the day Christopher Eccleston would grace the hallowed ground of Edmonton, Alberta, the sacred land of two-thirds of Radio Free Skaro? And yet here we are, as Mr. Eccleston will be a guest of Edmonton Expo (not affiliated with RFS) in September! Alas, North America isn’t so lucky when it comes to DVD and Blu-rayss, as we’ll have to wait until Christmas for the Colin Baker Blu-Ray set, but you can get Big Finish’s 20th anniversary extravaganza The Legacy of Time right now! And speaking of things you can do right now, why not listen to our interview with visual effects wizard, compositor and animator Rob Ritchie, veteran of Doctor Who animated reconstructions and special editions! Do so! At once!

260: The Moffat Code (Last Christmas)
Trust Your DoctorNow for the Trust Your Doctor Code. Five words: The Rock is The Doctor.
For once we can say we have a special “Christmas in July” episode of Trust Your Doctor. Because by some weird coincidence this goes out right near the end of July. Not quite on the 25th, or in the middle either, but it’s close enough. Is this the closest that Doctor Who has ever come to a Christmas in July? I’d like to think so and because of that I’m claiming the first for Trust Your Doctor. It’s Last Christmas, written by Steven Moffat and aired on December 25, 2014.
Show-notes:
8:59 I’M GONNA TAKE MY HEARSE TO THE OLD TOWN ROAD.
12:10 It was William Blake.
12:40 Here’s a Jungle Book fanfic that uses The Tyger as an epigraph. Next best thing.
15:25 Relive the magic of Troll 2 and Never Ending Story 3 vicariously through us on Triple Play, our movie trilogy podcast.
19:30 Things like “Jake Paulers.” (shudder)
19:54 Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade. Can’t believe I’m being forced to listen to Christmas music in July.
25:53 Started way before Freud.
31:25 Gallifreyan alphabet guide.
43:02 You can listen to The Memory Cheats from Big Finish. You can also listen to The Memory Cheats podcast from The Memory Cheats.
50:29 It’s been 84 years since I last got the opportunity to link to this meme.
