A commentary to the Doctor Who episode Cold War. Even by our own ramshackle standards the facts are fast and loose here. It is Brendan not Brian Gleeson, obviously. And every time John talks about the movie Xtro he actually means Inseminoid, though Xtro is very good too, he reckons.

Those Game Of Thrones roles in full: Liam Cunningham (Zhukov) plays Davos Seaworth, Tobias Menzies (Stepashin) plays Edmure Tully and Spencer Wilding (Skaldak) plays the White Walker.

I guess it's possible that I'm simply a Bad Fan ( Warren Frey), but I can't say that I was excited about the return of the Ice Warriors. Admit it: didn't the old ones look kind of — silly? Turns out the monster itself was mostly a triumph in "Cold War," but oddly this episode fell prey to one of "The Rings of Akhaten"'s problems.

After a wait of almost 40 years, the Ice Warriors have returned to Doctor Who, with at least (and let's be honest, at most) one heavily armoured, lumbering green menace is back to make the lives of an 80's crew of Soviet submariners a soggy, terrifying hell. Mark Gatiss, a Who polymath with some hits and a few misses under his belt, brings the claustrophobic terror with "Cold War," but the real question is, what did the Three Who Rule think of the story? With precious little to discuss besides this episode and stats, stats, stats (and more stats) they expostulated at length, coming perilously close to beating Douglas McKinnon's expertly paced tale's running time with their balderdash and bafflegab.

Things get decidedly chilly in the DWP Campervan this week as Trevor, Leeson and James review the latest episode of Doctor Who – Cold War.

Yes, it’s the highly anticipated return of the Ice Warriors and our intrepid reviewing team revel in the opportunity to discuss a new Ice Warrior story.

To help prepare themselves for this episode, the boys sat in a cramped cupboard together for a week and poured water over their heads every three minutes whilst watching The Hunt for Red October on a continuous loop.

They talk about submarines, the 1980s, Russians and what, just what – precisely if you please – is the correct definition of a cyborg.

Well.. not to take advantage of 'Cold War'.. much... Anyway, have a version of the Doctor Who theme with references to Duran Duran, Band Aid and, yes, Ultravox. It's a VERY early track from Siobhan, so it's a bit rough n ready.
