After giving Cold War, Hide and Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS the once-over, Jim and Martin travel back in time to 1974 for Death to the Daleks - a tale of disarmed Daleks, operatic Exxilons and homicidal hoovers from the City of Dave.

They play ‘Spot the Terry Nation Trope’ while also wondering just how terrifying a patch of two-toned flooring be.

With an empty Dalek 'standing' about and a blushing high priest channelling Spike Milligan, they ask 'Who is the real goon'?

And they plead with Carey Blyton to stop using sax as a weapon.

What a show we have for you this week folks. We have Star Trek royalty joining as Garrett Wang, who played Ensign Harry Kim in Star Trek Voyager and is now the director of Trek Trak for DragonCon, will give us a chat about what’s going on with DragonCon Trek Trak, make two major announcements on appearances, talk about Star Trek Into Darkness and his opinion on the JJ Abrams franchise as well as his career and other amazing anecdotes.

We also have Dr. Scott Vigue to tell us why we shouldn’t hate Colin Baker’s Sixth Doctor. We tell you all about our trip to New Hampshire for Misti-Con and we give you the low down on our recently launched KickStarter campaign for Jason’s comic, StarMage.

Plus we review Nightmare in Silver and give you a preview of The Name of the Doctor!

Our review of “Nightmare in Silver” in which we earn our explicit tag.

Even after recording and listening back to this episode I’m not quite sure we really know how we felt overall about Neil Gaiman’s second Doctor Who script. We do have pretty strong and clear feelings about some of the elements though and listeners with sensitive ears should be cautious. We also spend a good amount of time talking about our excitement for “The Name of the Doctor.” Listen for the cloister bell and you’ll know where to turn off if you don’t want to be spoiled.

Time to put away all the velvet, and pull out our multicoloured scarves & jelly babies! It's 4th Doctor time on episode 59 of The Oncoming Storm! This week, Josh and Ashley  start by tackling the 4th issue of Prisoners of Time, with a little help from returning guest Jeff Polier. It features the 4th Doctor and Leela as they face... the Judoon?!? They will let you know how this first time meeting of a new series monster and a classic Doctor works out! After that, it's The Roots of Evil by Philip Reeve. This latest ebook has the 4th Doctor & Leela fight against a homicidal space tree. One of these stories faithfully recreates the Tom Baker era to a fault. The other has Leela using contractions. Guess which one the guys like? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got goosing crystalline entities who will whisper sweet nothings in your ear. At least, that's what it looks like to us.
