DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 069 - Three Candles
Diddly Dum Podcast
Come and have a piece of cake as we celebrate the third birthday of the Diddly Dum Podcast. Originally intending to review “The Return of Doctor Mysterio”, we get slightly sidetracked by listing what Doctor Who goodies we got for Christmas. Then Hayden regales us with a tale of his Christmas visit to The Centre for Computing History in Cambridge where he discovered playable games consoles and games from his youth.Eventually, we leave the subject of the 90s Doctor Who pinball game and the Activision Ghostbusters game from the 80s and turn to chatting about the latest Doctor Who Christmas Special.
Along the way, we discover Peter Cushing’s unusual hobby, we keep finding William Russell in the seasonal TV fare, and we look back to a very early podcast where we covered an early computer game featuring the voices of Jon Pertwee and Ian Dury.

256: Teletubbies is Actually Really Interesting (Mummy on the Orient Express)
Trust Your DoctorNow hang on hear me out on this…
Did you know the office where we record these episodes is right next to a train track? We usually luck out, it’s pretty rare that a train will pass while we record. It was more common when we recorded Zenith and TYD back to back, but it’s pretty rare now. Which I only mention because if there was ever a single episode, one single episode, that would have been pretty funny if the train actually did drive by on, it would have been this one. And you know, weirdly enough, it didn’t. It’s Mummy on the Orient Express, written by Jamie Mathieson and aired on October 11, 2014
Show-notes:
9:39 I couldn’t find the picture I was talking about, but I did find this other picture of Thomas Pynchon’s hand coming out of the darkness and doing the peace sign. In what looks like a reenactment of A Shocking Accident by Graham Green. Or maybe it’s a scene out of a Pynchon book. Or something else. I don’t know.
15:28 I still can’t find out who this guy is, what else he’s been in, his name, or anything else about him. Please help.

TDP 855: @BigFinish at 20 Ep06 MR59 Roof Of The World
Tin Dog Podcastanother 20 for 20 Houndsite this time talking Tibet, 1917. It's a time of great exploration, with intrepid teams of adventurers heading blindly into uncharted territory, determined to beat inexplicable odds and overcome any challenge they encounter. But some things are not necessarily that easy to defeat. An ancient evil, perhaps older than time itself, is stirring deep within the heart of the Himalayas. It has always known it will return and finish off what it started so many centuries before. But the time has to be right. As the TARDIS materialises, with the Doctor determined to take full advantage of an invite to a cricket match, the catalyst that the dark forces need unwittingly arrives.

Episode 33 - The Scoop on the New Relativity Serial Podcast
Discussing WhoWhat happens when the only person who can help may be located billions of miles away? Lee Shackleford answers that question in his upcoming serial, Relativity. What is Relativity? Lee crafts a journey for our minds and ears within the steel walls of the spaceship Konyechny. It’s a story set in the not-too-distant future about two people – a woman on Earth at Mission Control and a single man aboard the ship. Lee, like his character within the serial, joins me as we discuss some of what he has planned for he and his co-star Alana Jordan as Relativity unfolds. All this PLUS listener feedback!
More About Relativity Podcast
In the not-too-distant future, the Earth is in a global crisis. And on the giant ship Konyechny out in deep space, things aren’t much better. Two people — a woman at Mission Control and a man aboard the ship — struggle to help one another through their life-and-death situations. Their only link across the vastness of space … is the sound of each other’s voices…As you listen, you’ll experience what the characters in the show experience… because like you, their understanding of the situation is drawn solely from sound and imagination.

The Scoop on the New Relativity Serial Podcast
Discussing WhoWhat happens when the only person who can help may be located billions of miles away? Lee Shackleford answers that question in his upcoming serial, Relativity. What is Relativity? Lee crafts a journey for our minds and ears within the steel walls of the spaceship Konyechny. It's a story set in the not-too-distant future about two people - a woman on Earth at Mission Control and a single man aboard the ship. Lee, like his character within the serial, joins me as we discuss some of what he has planned for he and his co-star Alana Jordan as Relativity unfolds. Plus listener feedback!

089: The Edge of Destruction
The Krynoid Podcast"If anything happens, let me know."
What do you get if you have two episodes to fill with no guest actors and no new sets?
Well in the weird world of Lime Grove 1964, you get The Edge of Destruction - a veritable cryptic crossword with clues from another, different cryptic crossword.
This is, of course, the one where Susan turns scissor sister, Ian seems to have been at the BBC brown ale, the Doctor - even with a head wound - still wins Gallifrey's Fastest Butler and poor old Babs has to hold it all together, despite her pathological fear of Salvador Dali.
Even the Fornicator can't help them as they try to discover what the heck is going on (and what the writer has been smoking) until, finally, the solution springs to mind.
So can Jim and Martin make sense of the sentient ship's clues or will the story leave them on the edge of nervous destruction?
Find out here.

Material That Was Worthy of Him
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastFor some people, small, beautiful events are what life is all about!
Another era reaches its end, and somewhere, someone’s favourite television show is cancelled again. Perhaps Peter Davison’s years on the programme weren’t its heyday, but all four of us have found a new appreciation of his portrayal of the Doctor. Thanks, Peter. Time to say goodbye.
Notes and links
We have been unable to substantiate Brendan’s claim about Janet’s knickerlessness in Frontios Part 1, but brave souls wishing to assist us might try starting at timecode 23:10.
Big Finish has yet to capitalise on the Magma Creature, but at least Bernice Summerfield has confronted the Monoids in The Kingdom of the Blind.
For once, Richard is excited about his choices in Snog–Marry–Avoid. But will he pick Chancellor Flavia, played by Dinah Sheridan in the 1953 film Genevieve? Or will it be Chancellor Thalia, played by Elspet Gray, who was the mother in Season 2 of Catweazle? Or finally Joe Orton’s beloved Beryl Reid?
Follow us!
Brendan is on Twitter as @brandybongos, Nathan is @nathanbottomley, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Richard is @RichardLStone. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll blight the rest of your career claiming that your performance is bland and beige despite your undoubted proficiency as an actor.
Doctor Who in 10 Seconds
Fans of the podcast like to think that Brendan is a sober and responsible ringmaster, bringing much-needed gravity to every episode of Flight Through Entirety. But the truth is that he’s both crazy and remarkably attractive.
For direct visual evidence of this, check out his critically-acclaimed YouTube series, Doctor Who in Ten Seconds, in which he summarises the first seven seasons of Doctor Who, spending no more than ten seconds on each story. Check out the playlist on YouTube.
Bondfinger
You’ve been waiting patiently for a terribly long time, so we are happy to announce the release of our final Bondfinger Rodgecast, a commentary on A View to a Kill.
A full range of Rodgecasts are also available, from Live and Let Die to Octopussy. Other Bonds are also available, of course. You can keep up with all the Bondfinger news on Twitter and Facebook.
