We asked for suggestions about what sort of special podcast episode folks might like to hear. We took Harvey's suggestion...and made it into...this. It's mostly a top five list, with a spot of bottom five added in. It ended up being a bit longer than expected, but goodness was it fun to record. It turns out that we have rather strong opinions. Hunh.

The day of reckoning is upon us; the twelfth Doctor revealed! It is with a heavy heart we discover that Gordon Ramsey will not play the coveted role. (We really hope you didn’t place any bets on that.) Still, we’re spinning this into a success, as we maintain our record of 80% wrong, a feat claimed by no other podcast! Though in this case we were closer to 100% wrong. The real man of the hour is a strapping young man named Peter Capaldi, to whom the sonic screwdriver has been passed. On Sunday, 4th of August 2013 the BBC made a special announcement broadcast live around the world at 19:00 Universal Time. In this 30 minute program several celebrities with connections to the Doctor Who franchise were interviewed, including the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) and fan favorite Bernard Cribbens (Wilfred Mott). Finally, they revealed the pick for Matt Smith’s replacement.

Today we discuss the announcement and our thoughts on the Twelfth Doctor.
