Pointy at the Back
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastAfter the whimsy and quality of last week’s story, 1980s Doctor Who is back on form with a grim 90-minute slog, bristling with guns and clunky macho dialogue. And a bigger body count than the last three seasons combined! Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Resurrection of the Daleks.
Buy the story!
Resurrection of the Daleks has been released on DVD many times, for some reason. The Special Edition DVD was first released in the Revisitations 2 box set in 2011 (Amazon UK), which at least includes a new edition of Carnival of Monsters. As always, it was also released on its own in the US. (Amazon US)

Fans of classic British comedy racism may even enjoy Spike Milligan’s celebrated Pakistani Dalek sketch.
And if this story hasn’t slaked your thirst for ultraviolence in London (and Newcastle), you should watch the 1971 Michael Hodges masterpiece, Get Carter, which stars Michael Caine and largely deleted Avengers alumnus Ian Hendry.
And if even that’s not enough for you, The Long Good Friday (1980), launched the career of the late Bob Hoskins and featured the delightful and somewhat terrifying Helen Mirren. Like Resurrection of the Daleks, it heavily features the London Docklands and people shooting each other with guns.
And now it’s time for Flight Through Entirety Entertainment Tonight: Parker Posey will be playing Dr Smith in the new Netflix remake of Lost in Space. Meanwhile, Michelle Yeoh, who pillioned with Pierce Brosnan in the 1997 Bond classic Tomorrow Never Dies, has reportedly signed on to play the captain of the upcoming new Star Trek series Star Trek Discovery. Nathan’s partner Calvin continues to deny that she’s his long-lost cousin from Ipoh. But none of us are convinced by that.
And in Separated at Birth?, we encourage you to consider how uncannily similar Eric Saward looks to Baron Silas Greenback from our childhood favourite Danger Mouse. (No, not the 2015 reboot. Or the music producer.)

Doctor Who in 10 Seconds
Most of our listeners are longing for those other guys to shut the hell up, so that they can hear what Brendan has to say. And who can blame them?
Fans of the delightful Brendan can actually see him in person in his video series Doctor Who in Ten Seconds, in which he takes a leisurely 10 seconds to summarise individual stories of Doctor Who. Think how much time you’ll save watching the show by checking out the playlist on YouTube instead!
Bondfinger
Well, we’ve been overcome by a seasonal inability to be arsed enough to watch A View to a Kill, so our Rodg-a-thon will reach its final conclusion in the New Year, possibly under a Trump presidency.
In the meantime, you can enjoy our other Rodgecasts, from For Your Eyes Only to Live and Let Die. Other Bonds are also available, of course. You can keep up with all the Bondfinger news on Twitter and Facebook.

Lazy Doctor Who1.12 & 1.13
Erika and Steven complete their frolic through the 2005 series of Doctor Who. It’s a strong finish for RTD’s “first album”. So that means the foreseeable future will be all classic-Who all the time. Probably.

Metebelis 2 #20 - Foes from the Future
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Ben and David wrap up their discussion on horror during the Hinchcliffe and Holmes era with a look at Season 14. Was this era horrific enough, or were there missed opportunities? What's the significance of owls and Sarah Jane? Would Eldrad have gotten along with K9? Are all assassins deadly? Answers to these questions and more in this episode of the Metebelis 2 Experience. Plus Ben's defense of the tarnished Talons of Weng-Chiang and the duo's picks for the best horror of the era. Intro music is an excerpt from "The Mandragora Helix" by Dick Mills. Outro music is the theme from "Target" composed by Dudley Simpson. "Target" was the show Hinchcliffe would go on to produce after his stint on "Doctor Who."

Episode 26 - "The Slave Traders" and "All Roads Lead to Rome"
The Doctor Who HourMike and Justin do as 'The Romans' do, and hang out in a villa for a month before watching "The Slave Traders" and "All Roads Lead to Rome". A lot of things get discussed this week, but honestly most of it gets derailed by our total confusion about the differences between a lute and a lyre. Join us, won't you?
The Doctor Who Hour is a weekly show in which two friends, veteran Who-watcher Justin and first-time Who-watcher Mike, sit down to watch and discuss every episode of Doctor Who, starting from the very beginning. Follow us on Twitter @DoctorWhoHour or email us at TheDoctorWhoHour@gmail.com with questions, concerns, or just general nonsense.

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 120
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastHey Who fans! We’re at Episode 120 which brings some fresh news, a couple of merch items PLUS our last review of Class and our regular review of Ghostlight.
The News
In the London area (or maybe this will be an incentive to get there)? A popular meeting place for Who fans has now re-opened. The Fitzroy Tavern on Charlotte Street has had a refurb we expect the great sounding Who meetup’s to continue, which take place on the first Thursday of each month. We’ll see you there!
Merch
A couple of merch items – the last novel of the Lethbridge-Stewart range for 2016 has been announced – Mind of Stone and Doom Coalition 4 is up for pre-order from Big Finish.
“Class: Episode 8 – The Lost” Review
The last one! Can it follow on from the not too bad episode from last week and end the series with the potential we’ve wanted?
“Ghostlight” Review
It’s classic week and we’re spending some time with the 7th Doctor and Ace. Back to a creepy house in Perivale with aliens, scary house maids and a whole bunch of other characters in this sometimes complex story. Some good stuff in here or are we left dazed and confused.
What a show this week. Thank you for sticking with us with our reviews of Class and for giving us your thoughts on Ghostlight. Next week we’re looking at a Tennant story – Smith and Jones. Until then have a great week and remember – Allons-y!
