It was a fantastic Con, one we recommend everyone try for themselves. Last week was a really long show so thankfully this week we’re back to our (roughly) normal run time. Some viewing figure news, merch then our review of Smile.

The News

As last week, nothing major happening this week so we talk around confirmed viewing figures for The Pilot and some early stats for Smile.

Merch Corner

Merch is mixed this week; a fairly strange looking LED torch (with what seems like the 12th Doctor’s sonic but with the top missing?) and the great looking Doctor Who/Mr. Men books and merch that just recently launched.

“Smile” Review

Series 10 continues with episode 2 – Smile. After the pretty awesome opener can this continue the momentum and bring us another belter or does it leave us feeling a bit ?

This time, it's the Puck-ish, Sylvester McCoy as the seventh incarnation of the Doctor and we see the whole, "Pick a Costume" routine, but with great comic flair and timing. This is the beginning of the end of the Old Who years, but some of the best stories and writing are featured in these last couple of seasons. Is "Time and the Rani" one of those greats? Sit back, and listen as we break it down.

Well, in “Smile,” we see both of those relatives, and it doesn’t go well for either of them. There’s something to the advice, if you believe old 12 and about five thousand Facebook posts – smiling can boost your mood. Whatever, we don’t cotton to that nonsense at the Arrow of Time.

And also Danica is horribly insensitive about British history, but to be fair, the British are history's villain. Except when there are Nazis or sometimes the French.
