Episode 131: Death to the Daleks OR The Exxilon Valdez Disaster
PodcasticaHoo boy! It's not often that John and Taylor come across a story that they both deride (the last one was Sleep No More), but Death to the Daleks (quite the promising title) does not deliver. There are good point and entertaining parts, but join us this time as our dynamic duo does their darnedest to deliver some entertaining commentary on this Dalek story! If we ever decide to do a RiffTrax-esque commentary on a story, this one's at the top of the list.

Diddly Dum PodcastIn the penultimate podcast before our 100th celebrations, Mark tells all about the Who at Hoylake convention where he stalked Matthew Waterhouse and was hailed by Richard Franklin as a campaigner against the ivory trade, Jurgen Klinsmann awakes from centuries of deep sleep (in the Tottenham attack) and, as we take a look at “The Ark in Space”, we hear how the life cycle of the wasp traumatised Mark as a boy.

Episode 212: War is for Kids
Trust Your DoctorOnly on Doctor Who can kids participate in that age old game known as war.
This week Dylan and Kiyan visit Winston Churchill. Turns out he’s as much of a hot head dick as everybody actually portrays him to be. Nobody here is actually surprised. Well maybe one person is surprised. I wasn’t surprised. It’s Victory of the Daleks, written by Mark Gatiss and aired on April 17, 2010.
Show-notes:
10:16 Here’s Ian McNiece’s filmography. I don’t think I’ve seen him in anything else.
18:58 FROBISHER
21:53 Just email us if you want Electric Ant and I’ll send you the full pdf of it.
23:02 On Exactitude in Science by Jorge Luis Borges.
41:31 Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima. February 23, 1945.
46:40 The Special Weapons Dalek was a dalek with a massive gun from Remembrance of the Daleks. Forgot about this freaking crazy design. This is honestly more offensive than the paradigmers from this story, but I guess nobody cared enough about Doctor Who in the 80s to cause a big fuss.

How am I gonna get through?
Who's He?This week Phil and Paul tackle Nekromanteia from Big Finish. And oh dear, what a mistake they made by selecting this one! With a story that has some very suspect portrayals of women that that basically concludes with 'don't trust a woman', neither Paul nor Phil hold back with their views on this very disappointing story that contains far too many characters and double crosses and annoying cackling witches!
And in the news this week, we say goodbye to Alan Bennion, filming has wrapped on series 11 of Doctor Who, news that a Doctor Who Children in Need special is being filmed, Big Finish are reuniting Tom Baker, Lalla Ward, John Leeson and Matthew Waterhouse in a new series of 4th Doctor adventures and the DWAS are funding a blue heritage plaque for William Hartnell.
