TDP 941: Scorched Earth #DoctorWho from @Bigfinish
Tin Dog PodcastThis title was released in May 2020. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until June 30th 2020, and on general sale after this date. July 1944. The TARDIS materialises in a small village near Rouen, where celebrations are in full swing. A joyful France is in the midst of liberation as the local population welcome a battalion of Allied soldiers – along with a colourfully dressed Doctor and his two rather excited friends. But there are screams amidst the celebrations as an angry crowd dish out their brand of justice to one of their own that they have branded a traitor. While Constance and Flip find themselves on opposite sides of a war beyond a war, the Doctor has other concerns. The local community is used to the fires of battle, but a new type of blaze is burning – leaping from aircraft to aircraft, man to man – and this fire seems to be just as eager for revenge as the village mob.

It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until May 31st 2020, and on general sale after this date. After the Movellan attack, the Counter-Measures team discover that key scientists who helped the Movellans are being murdered. Rachel Jensen realises that the Daleks are behind it. Soon the team finds itself in the middle of a desperate war between Daleks and Movellans. As casualties mount, the Daleks plan to explode a bomb to wipe out the Movellans. Unfortunately, it will also destroy all life on Earth. Rachel finds herself struggling to diffuse the bomb as the clock ticks down. The stakes are high and this time not everyone will make it out alive...

Terry Nation's Doctor Who Show
The Doctor Who ShowTerence Joseph Nation (8 August 1930 – 9 March 1997) was a Welsh television writer and novelist who listeners to our podcast will know as the creator of the Daleks.
As well as his work on Doctor Who for the First, Third and Fourth Doctors, Nation also created cult TV classics Survivors and Blake's 7, in addition to writing for The Avengers, The Baron, The Champions, Department S, The Persuaders! and The Saint.
Despite this astounding pedigree versus many of his peers, it's fair to say that Nation isn't widely regarded as one of the great classic Doctor Who writers.
Rob and Dave take a deep dive into Nation's career and fan perceptions of him to both re-evaluate the man and also pay tribute to his time on Doctor Who.
What are your favourite Terry Nation penned stories or series?
Hope you enjoy the episode! Contact us anytime, hello@theDWshow.net

Redux 4: Anthony Read’s Timeless Children (Underworld)
Trust Your DoctorWhat if Anthony Read had actually written The Timeless Children?
Personally I find that my dreams have taken me to the real life underworld much more than this story ever did. It’s pretty hellish down there, so I’m gonna give you all a warning. I’ve become best buds with some of my demons though, which is cool. They bought be a soda last week, that was nice of them. It’s Underworld, written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin and aired between January 7th and 28th , 1978.

90. Eggy Ruin
On the Time LashBen and Mark tackle complex moral dilemmas, gushing Cybermen and the history of squirty bottles as they discuss Kill the Moon and The Moonbase. Under discussion: Balancing the daftness of Doctor Who with the darkness of a prestige science fiction programme, the continuing improvements to animated reconstructions, Patrick Troughton becoming the Doctor and struggling to understand the Doctor's motivations. If you enjoy the podcast and want to buy us a coffee (no sugar) you can do so here, thanks!

Mr Smith’s Fanfare Is Diegetic
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, Nathan, James, Todd and Peter sit in our separate homes, longing for an invasion where the aliens order us all to congregate in the street together. Which is what happens, of course, in The Stolen Earth.
Notes and links
We’ve mentioned this over and over again, but for an account of how this season and its finale came to be, there’s no better place to go than Russell T Davies and Ben Cook’s The Writer’s Tale: The Final Chapter. It’s illustrated with cartoons by RTD himself, including his original conception of the Shadow Proclamation, and his headcanon explanation of Harriet Jones’s daring escape from the Daleks. An absolute must-read.

Nathan is on Twitter as @nathanbottomley, James is @ohjamessellwood, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Peter is nowhere at all. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam, and the strings performance was by Jane Aubourg. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.

Our James Bond commentary podcast is called Bondfinger, and you can find that at bondfinger.com, at @bondfingercast on Twitter, on Apple Podcasts, and everywhere else as well. In our most recent episode, we again commemorate Honor Blackman by watching her appearance as Ronald Allen’s wife in an episode of Patrick McGoohan’s Danger Man called Colonel Rodriguez.

Episode 22: Inferno Episode 4: Violence and Interrogation
Doctor Who: Fifty Years AgoWe interrogate an episode in which the Doctor is interrogated to tell anything except the truth and the concept of the parallel universe gets another turn. There's also deep discussion about how violent acts and regimes are portrayed, and a subverted view of bureaucracy.

Episode 25: Long in the Tooth
Something WhoRichard, Paul and Giles are back with our Not Vampire Special, with two stories that threaten to feature vampires, but ultimately don't. First we look at Seventh Doctor story Curse of Fenric and then we examine Eleventh Doctor story Vampires of Venice. Along the way we analyse the different versions of Curse of Fenric, Giles discusses codebreaking in WW2 and Paul plugs a Big Finish story that does indeed feature vampires.
Please like or share our podcast with people who will enjoy it. You can rate us directly on Apple Podcasts or Podchaser.com
The opening music is Three Guitars Mood 2 and, yes, that is Richard playing the ukulele and kazoo on possibly the worst ever version of the Doctor Who theme tune at the end.

Quarantine Productions
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastWe take a couple of turns around the studio table wondering what a complete Doctor Who story production would turn out like if the limitations and complications of stay-at-home did their worst. From DIY sets and sound effects, to last-minute recasting and other mishaps, it's just the level of wonkiness that gets the 'GPR slightly distorted stamp of approval'.
