Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 13 minutes and 33 seconds

We may not be quite sure whether this is truly the end for Clara, but we all agree that "Face the Raven" is a fantastic story and a great debut by writer Sarah Dollard. Join Deb, Lynne, and Tansy as we evaluate character departures, discuss character motivation, and touch on Steven Moffat's commitment issues. We examine Clara Oswald's arc and try to determine whether she was running toward death or running from grief. We also discuss the themes of morality throughout Series 9 because, why not? (I think it's safe to say we loved this one.)

What did you think of "Face the Raven"? Do you think Clara met a fitting end or did her death feel too slight or insignificant? Do you think Mayor Me is the other side of the Doctor's morality or just a misguided villain? Let us know in the comments!

While we're not so sure this qualifies as part of a two-parter, we agree it's well worth talking about! Join Deb, Erika, Katrina, and Lynne as we delve into what it means to be immortal with a human brain, the fabulous chemistry Maisie Williams has with Peter Capaldi, some truly fantastic writing, and lots of fawning over highwaymen (by some of us, at least). It's a squee-filled episode, but not entirely without criticism.

This week we throw out our regularly scheduled topic (or rather, shelve it back into the spreadsheet) and talk about BBC Doctor Who prologues! That's right, the BBC surprised us with some series 9 Capaldi goodness, and we just couldn't hold back. In addition, we cover some of the other internet-only prologue action the BBC has tossed our way over the years. (Note: If you're looking for speculation and a frame-by-frame breakdown, you have come to the wrong podcast, my friend.)

This week it's Tansy's turn to pick a companion-tastic story. Join Deb, Erika, Katrina, and Tansy as we discuss Vicki and Steven in "The Time Meddler", their relationship to each other, and their relationships to the Doctor. This is really the first episode of a new type of companion/Doctor team. Not only that, but it's a really interesting episode for the Doctor, and we veer into that territory more than a little.

What do you think of this story? Are Vicki and Steven a great team? Do you like how the Doctor interacts with them (and gets to go off on his own as they explore without him)? Let us know in the comments!

This is the first ep in a Verity! miniseries in which we each select a story that displays a compelling Doctor-companion relationship. Join Deb, Erika, Liz, and Tansy as we cover Erika's pick, "The Power of Three". The Ponds' penultimate story is rife with companion-based themes--to the detriment of what little plot there is.

How do you feel about the interactions between the Doctor, Amy, and Rory in "The Power of Three"? Does it give you enough to chew on so that you can ignore the weak story? (Or do you disagree and think the story is amazing?) Let us know in the comments!
