With only the promise of a place to sleep and a hot meal, we were able to coax them back to our hotel room to chat about an old horror movie. That movie was, and shall continue to be, The Omen.

In the run up to the shows 50th Birthday the Outpost Skaro team will be looking back at each and every incarnation of the Doctor; starting with William Hartnell’s initial take on the role. Derek, Eddie and Andy look back on what made the show so great right from the start.

And in the first of an ongoing series we put the First Doc’s companions to the test in: Trial of a Companion. Who will be the first to enter Room 10, 0, 11, 0, 0 by 0, 2?

Like her Paternoster cohort Dan Starkey, Neve McIntosh was a hit at Gallifrey One: on stage and among the fans. I spent a few minutes with her at the Sunday night LobbyCon, and we talked about Madame Vastra.

Not going to lie, pretty much this whole episode is Nicole (who went Hollywood on us for a week or so) telling us about Gally One.  We do talk about a few other things, I mention a kick ass TARDIS bluetooth speaker by Who Sound LTD, but to be fair, the bulk of it is Gally One.  So if you're like Joanna and I, and couldn't make Gally, then sit back , relax and listen to a little bit about it!  Enjoy!  

P.S.  Also, this episode was meant to be up by the 24th or at least before BBC America aired the 2nd Doctor special, but due to real life I didn't get it done in time, so sorry but enjoy anyway!

Tom and Louis return from what can only be described as an extended retirement to deliver their long (long, long) overdue review of Doctor Who’s 2012 Christmas extravaganza, “The Snowmen.” Along the way they discuss K-9, Sherlock, and other bizarre tangents.

Have you ever been embarrassed by being a Doctor Who fan?

Is embarrassment a terminal plague upon your love of the series, or do you wear fandom on your sleeve, cosplaying at conventions and generally having a lot of fun with things?

This strange collision of approaches – dressing up vs self loathing – is the main topic of discussion in this week’s Kasterborous podKast (with a “K”) in which we talk about the differences between Brian Terranova and James McLean following the former’s regular cosplaying adventures and the latter’s inability to buy a copy of DWM without wondering what the WHSmith girl thinks of him.

We also spend a few moments discussing the sad passing of Richard Briers, and look out for our regular recommendations feature.

Today the DWP present the second epic quiz showdown that took place at the recent Gallifrey convention in Los Angeles.

In this mighty battle is the long awaited rematch between the DWP (championed byJames, Ian, Michele and ring in Luke from the Minute Doctor Who Podcast) and those lyrical funsters The Oodcast.

Keen listeners to the DWP might remember the previous Gallifrey quiz between these two podcast behemoths, and it didn’t go too well for the boys from the DWP…

What will happen this time?  Will the Oods be triumphant again?  Or will the DWP (and a ring in) wrestle back the title of quiz champions?

Hosted once again by friend of the show Andrew Smith (who stood in valiantly at the last minute in place of Ed Stradling), we will see who is victorious, and who headed off to the convention closing ceremony with their tails tucked firmly between their legs.

A big, big thank you goes out to Chip from the Two Minute Timelord Podcast for going above and beyond the call of duty to secure this particular recording of the quiz for us.
