084: Arc of Infinity
The Krynoid Podcast"Rondel - intergalactic region devoid of all stellar activity"
So how come it feels like we've gone on location to Rondel, rather than Amsterdam? There's certainly a lack of activity in Arc of Infinity - and a less than stellar cast, if it comes to that.
But at least we have a trigger-happy Nyssa, a new look (but, alas, same personality) Tegan and a Doctor who seems to be staining his whites with more than grass. And they're up against a naughty, helium-powered Time Lord, a swarfega-spewing 'mystery' renegade and something which appears to have crawled out of Colonel Sanders' bin.
Couple that with a pair of berks who give backpackers (and indeed bipeds) a bad name and a strangely familiar guard captain, who is the bottom of everybody's favourites list, and you have an uneven start to an anniversary season.
So do Jim and Martin see this story a delicious Edam or a Dutch oven? Listen here to find out.

Episode 2: The End of the World Commentary
The Androzani WhinersNick and Luke tackle their first Russell T Davies episode, the man who made New Doctor Who possible and this podcast necessary. Does it stand up to scrutiny?
-
Episode 1: Amy's Choice Commentary
The Androzani WhinersNick and Luke are angered to find that their first episode is one they like, and not one which breaks the rules. But they take solace in that it's all downhill from here.
-
Episode 0: The Cynical Introduction
The Androzani WhinersWherein Nick and Luke cynically set out the rules for the cynical drinking game, which are as follows.
1) 1 drink every time after the first instance that the Doctor or Companion theme plays in an episode.
2) 2 drinks for every plot point introduced in an episode which is not resolved that season.
3) 1 drink for every out of place comedy or horror moment.
4) 1 drink for any character trait which is introduced for plot convenience.
5) 1 drink for every disconnect between the CG and practical effects.
6) 1 drink for every out-of-place 21st century earth reference.
7) 1 drink for every time in an episode that the writer rips himself off from an earlier episode.
8) 2 drinks for every gratuitous appearance of an old alien.
9) 1 drink for any overly obvious Classic Who reference.
10) 1 drink for any character which exists solely as a plot point.
11) Down if the day is saved by love.
12) 1 drink every time The Doctor doesn't understand humans.
13) 1 drink for every stupid use of the Sonic Screwdriver.
ii) 3 drinks if this saves the day.
14) 2 drinks if a character exists solely for an easy gut punch when they die.

Episode 152: Say Something Nice
The TARDIS TavernAfter exploring the depths of "The Underwater Menace", our heroes jump ahead to the current era of Doctor Who to talk about Steve once coined "a generic Capaldi two-parter". That's right, it's "Dark Water" and "Death in Heaven", the dramatic conclusion to one of the most beloved series of the program ever.
Why isn't Dr. Chang Chinese? What's so dreadful about St. Paul's Cathedral? Is Peter Capaldi with the big hair or the short hair? All the questions and more might be answered in our latest episode!

Episode 216: Vampire Rocks from Outer Space
The Sonic ToolboxIt's the third story in the Key To Time series, Stones of Blood, that we're reviewing this time out. It's our favorite of the Key to Time stories and we've been looking forward to picking it apart.
Before we get to that, tho, the hot weather has our rabbits running for cooler temps in the form of the new fall TV shows here in the US. With nothing newsworthy (in our opinion) going on with Doctor Who, we feel obliged to indulge in a bit of that sort of rabbit chasing.

Episode 131: Iron Chef Space
Trust Your DoctorEvery planet sends one chef, we decided to send Gordon Ramsey.
As we draw nearer to the end of the season, we decide to race some ships in outer space. Additionally, we say goodbye to… the Black Guardian, for now that is. It’s the conclusion of the Black Guardian trilogy with Enlightenment, written by Barbara Clegg and aired in March of 1983.
Show-notes:
9:38 Not sure whether this is the right thing cause I was too lazy to read the article.
26:15 Check out our other podcast, Double Day.
31:42 Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas, which came out in 1999, was Disney’s first Christmas special. 14 years and several thousand complaint letters later, Disney finally released their first Hanukkah movie, Frozen, to critical acclaim. Other Disney holiday specials include The Emperor’s New Groove (Thanksgiving) and Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon (Guy Fawkes Day).
32:30 Kimba the White Lion was actually a TV show. Many people have noticed that Lion King bears some striking resemblances to it, but what most people don’t know is that Kimba itself was actually based on Disney’s classic 1896 movie Lions 2: Lions.

Terminus Podcast -- Episode 19 - Finest Exploding Restaurants: The Husbands of River Song
Terminus: A Doctor Who PodcastOn this belated episode, I indulge in some Andrew Cartmel love, I lament a bit about my current state of Moffat-Hate-Fatigue, I feel far too many feels discussing 'Husbands of River Song', I rant a bit about the show's portrayal of Rose and her relationship with the Doctor (contrasting it with River and the Doctor's relationship, natch), and I even embarrass myself quite a bit by uncharacteristically tacking on some small boopers/outtakes at the end of the show (despite my perfectionist side screaming in protest!).
So, I really do hope you all will join me for this episode and, as always, glad to have you all aboard. Enjoy the ride!
