Danger Zone
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastBrendan, Nathan and Todd are all suffering from Lazar’s disease, or possibly withdrawing from hydromel, which might explain our somewhat listless approach to that critically acclaimed Doctor Who classic, Terminus.
Buy the story!
Terminus was released on DVD in 1992/1993. In the US, it was released on its own, as usual, (Amazon US), but it will cost you 70 US dollars, which would be crazy. You could also buy it as part of the Black Guardian Trilogy box set (Amazon US), which is how it was released in the UK and Australia (Amazon UK).
Notes and links
Liza Goddard plays Kari in this story. To Australian viewers, she is better known as Clancy in Skippy (1967–1969); Nathan has almost completely forgotten her role in the British sitcom Yes, Honestly (1976–1977).
Before Mawdryn Undead came along, Turlough was originally going to make his début in Song of the Space Whale by Pat Mills and John Wagner. This was finally recorded (as usual) as part of Big Finish‘s Lost Stories range range, as The Song of Megaptera, starring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant.
In his Big Finish story The Waters of Amsterdam, Jonathan Morris offers an explanation of why the Doctor has set up the scanner to check in on Tegan and Nyssa’s bedroom. (Bad Doctor!)
Follow us!
Brendan is on Twitter as @brandybongos, Nathan is @nathanbottomley, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Richard is @RichardLStone. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll stick you in the TARDIS set for three years and then make you drop your skirt in your final story. Sorry, Nyssa.
Doctor Who in 10 Seconds
While we’ve been away, Brendan has roared into the 70s with a summary of Season 7 of Doctor Who, in which he confronts Autons, Silurians, John Abineri and a scary parallel version of himself. With hilarious results. If you want to find his summaries of the 1960s seasons of Doctor Who, check out the playlist on YouTube.

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 106
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastHi you lot. This week we have some cool Pertwee news, a sweet custom Titan figure and then onto our review of Battlefield. Let’s do it.
The News
Another classic Who commentary is on the way from Fantom Publishing’s Who Talk series, this time it’s the turn of Remembrance of the Daleks. Previous releases have included The Web of Fear and The Doemons amongst others so go check them out.
The Doctor Who Appreciation Society is currently raising funds for a Heritage Plaque in honour of Jon Pertwee which they’re hoping to have installed at the New Wimbledon Theatre. This is all to celebrate 40 years of the DWAS for which Pertwee was the first honorary president. There’s also a special event coming up in London on the 23rd October called Polarity Day to celebrate the 40th anniversary and Pertwee’s Doctor.
Merch
Titan recently unveiled a new TARDIS 4.5″ figure at New York Comic Con and is now up for order at Forbidden Planet. The Clara Tribute TARDIS is adorned with the floral paintings and portrait by Rigsy and looks rather good.
“Battlefield” Review
Aaaaaaaace!!!! Yes, it’s plenty of 7th Doctor and Ace action as Battlefield kicked off series 26 and our review this week. Some good stuff in this one or do we get stuck like trying to pull Excalibur from it’s stone?
That’s a wrap for episode 106 and thank you as always for listening and sticking with us. Next week we finish the 9th Doctor’s story in our review of World War Three. Until than have a great week and as always – Allons-y!!

Things you will also hear: a dramatic reading of our very first listener submitted poem, a tam o’ shanter full of Scottish stereotypes, the correct pronunciation of the last name of the guy who plays Moss on The I.T. TDP 607: Summer of Blake's 7 2.08 - Hostage
Tin Dog PodcastThe Federation sends out twenty pursuit ships to hunt Blake down and destroy him, but the Liberator withstands the assault and manages to get away. Blake then receives a message from his nemesis Travis who has escaped the Federation and taken Blake's cousin Inga whom he holds hostage on the planet Exbar. Travis makes the peculiar request to join up with Blake's crew since Servalan has made him a wanted criminal, but Blake believes it to be a ruse. He teleports down to the planet to rescue Inga, and meanwhile, unknown to Blake, Avon sends a message to Servalan with Travis' location. Concerned about Blake, Avon also teleports to the planet and later Vila joins him. The three are eventually rounded up by Travis, and his gang of "crimos," (criminal psychopaths), and Travis reveals his intention to take the Liberator after he kills them.
A Wise Person Once Said...
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastThere once was a campaign in the United States for an investment broker, where the tagline read, "Whentalks, everyone listens." You may not have an iota of interest in the stock market, of course, but when the Doctor steps forward, takes a strengthening breath, and begins an oration, the viewing audience joins the supporting cast in rapt attention to what is about to be said. It may even be argued that within the past 3 series, the opportunities for and occurrences of these monologues are steadily increasing -- much to our fascination. This week, Keir and Haley tour a series of the Doctor's most impactful speeches, from short but sweet consolations to a distraught listener, to the arms-wide, sermon-on-the-mount powerhouses that hold armies at bay, and give would-be gods reason to take heed. We discuss the apparent rise in the breadth and content of these speeches, and the adept way that Doctor Who writers have historically written to the strengths of each actor portraying the titular role. Some referenced moments for your research: First Doctor to Susan, in "Dalek Invasion of Earth" Second Doctor to Victoria, in "Tomb of the Cybermen" Third Doctor to Jo Grant, in "The Time Monster" (thanks to Ian for the suggestion!) Fourth Doctor to Sarah Jane, in "Genesis of the Daleks" Sixth Doctor to the Valeyard and Inquisitor, in "Trial of a Timelord" Ninth Doctor to Rose, in "Parting of the Ways" Tenth Doctor soliloquy, in "The Waters of Mars" Eleventh Doctor to the assembled armada, in "The Pandorica Opens" Twelfth Doctor to Bonnie, in "The Zygon Inversion" News Links: Moffat "Explains" the Return of Nardole in Series 10 "Power of the Daleks" Animation Reported...But Only By "The Mirror" Spin-off Series "Class" to Air in October

Doctor Who: Verity! It's another series 1 two-parter! Join Deb, Erika, Katrina, and Lynne as we discuss Steven Moffat's first submission to the new era of Doctor Who. There's a lot of love for both the 9th Doctor and Captain Jack, who may or may not be the physical incarnation of the Doctor's libido. (Thanks, Lynne, for sharing that now-unseeable, though still unbelievable fan crack-theory!)
What are your thoughts on this two-parter? Do you like the Doctor as a "dancer"? Does that make you go all squicky? Do you like Captain Jack better here or later, in Torchwood? Let us know in the comments!
