Gallifrey's Most Wanted Episode 015 "The Highlanders"
Gallifrey's Most Wanted PodcastA Missing Serial. Which means we find a way to talk for an hour about 13 seconds of film. KIDDING! Thanks to all the nerds of the 1960s who hardwired reel-to-reel recorders to their televisions to capture sound, we have a complete audio track. Telesnaps -- on set photographs -- have been cobbled together with that nerd-sourced material to make an archive of what the creators intended. And thus, we are introduced to young Jamie McCrimmon, soon to join the TARDIS crew. Also featured in this episode -- Vic gets to discuss the Protestant Reformation, Scottish History and Civil Rights movements, all in one podcast. (Life may never be so good again.) So flin' oan a kilt and come alang wi' us oan a journey to The Highlanders.

Doctor Who - Ep152: Christmas in August
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box Podcast
Hey Who fans. After some interesting merch stories we're onto the usual news, merch and our review of The Runaway Bride.
The News
Upcoming 13th Doctor Jodie Whittaker was on BBC Radio 6 recently talking about her reaction to being cast and actor Earl Cameron celebrates his 100th birthday as Who's oldest participant.
Merch Corner
The awesomely cute Dr. Men crossover will be brining us the official figurines later this year.
"The Runaway Bride" Review
We wondered whether doing a Christmas Special in August would feel weird but seeing as this is actually quite light on festive meriment we're all good. The robot Santa's are back, TARDIS car chase, a giant spider and plenty of Doctor-Donna action. Are we feeling this story or are we left empty, like losing a Christmas cracker?
Thank you as always for supporting the show and listening. Next week it's Classic week and it's the 3rd Doctor's turn with Death to the Daleks. Until then have a great week and remember - Allons-y!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 205: NA #59 The Room with No Doors
The Oncoming StormIt's time for The Oncoming Storm episode 205, and the crew think they're turning Japanese, they think they're turning Japanese, they really think so. Okay, bad 80's song references aside, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are here with the penultimate 7th Doctor New Adventure, as they look at The Room with No Doors by Kate Orman, and that's right, The Doctor and Chris are in medieval Japan! There, they'll run across all of the expected things; samurai, monks, Victorian inventors, floating heads, giant bird people. You know, the usual. But Chris is having nightmares of being placed in the room with no doors. Is that his fate, or with a regeneration impending, is it the ultimate fate of the 7th Doctor? Strap in for some emotional soul searching in this one, folks. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got existential angst. Hopefully the Doctor can manipulate us into feeling better!

Unlike most classic Who serials, it is not filed under its own name. Search for an entry entitled "Classic Doctor Who" and you'll find this serial marked as the third season. Our audio adventure will be Renaissance of the Daleks, available from BigFinish.com.

episode 192 - He Said/She Said: The 13th Doctor
MarkWHO42 - The Doctor Who PodcastThis episode of MarkWHO42 is all about Jodie from two different perspectives, the guys and the gals. On our biggest round table discussion yet, we separate the gents from the ladies to hear two different perspectives about the first female Doctor WHO, Jodie Whittaker. Was this time right time? Was this the right idea? Why a female Doctor? Is Doctor WHO destined for failure, or looking at a new resurgence? As we move forward with our 13th Doctor, our panelists of experts give their take on what has happened, the controversy spawning throughout the WHOniverse and what they believe will be the future of Doctor WHO. So, join the team of MarkWHO42 (with Christian Basel hosting the men and Iggy Mathews hosting the women) with their very special guests on this special and quite possibly controversial episode. And whatever else happens, Jodie Whittaker is the Doctor, "whether you like it or not."

Episode 147 - Survival Kit(ling)
Doctor Who: Verity! Our year of loves and lasts continues with a rather big "last". Join Deb, Erika, Liz, and Lynne as we discuss 1989's "Survival", which was a "last" in many ways, although it wasn't originally intended as such.

^E
Also covered:
- Lynne had moving prep help from Michi Trota, Jesse Lex, and Dolores and Matt Peters (the latter two gave them Doctor Who LEGO Dimensions goodies), and Matt hosts two podcasts:
- Erika
- discovers "What if John Carpenter did a Doctor Who Theme?"!
- cannot wait for LI Who and hopes to see you there!
- Liz is filled with delight and squee and Great Emotion because the next Doctor is a woman!
- Deb blatantly steals borrows a game from Kim Rogers and Sage Young at Head Over Feels and wants you to submit your ideas for "This or That" for future Verity fun!

TDP 696: Blakes 7 2.10 - Voices From The Past
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast talks about B10 "Voice from the Past" George Spenton-Foster Roger Parkes 13 March 1979 7.0 (80) Blake suffers nightmares of the memory conditioning the Federation performed on him five years before. On course to the resort world Del-10, Blake makes a sudden unexplained course change to PK-118, a mining asteroid. Avon and the rest believe that someone is trying to manipulate Blake's mind and have him restrained, but Blake tricks Vila into believing that the others are plotting against him. Once free, Blake teleports to PK-118 where he meets a resistance group led by former Arbiter General Ven Glynd - a man who originally convicted Blake at his trial, but claims he has defected. Glynd, along with two other revolutionaries; the frail Shivan (whose face is masked with bandages), and LeGrand (a governor whose ship they later rendezvous with), claim they have enough legal evidence to non-violently overthrow the Federation and request transport to a political meeting on planet Atlay. Avon and the others however, only smell a trap when they realize a device Shivan carries may be controlling Blake's mind. Guest Stars: Richard Bebb (as Ven Glynd), Frieda Knorr (as Governor Le Grand), Martin Read (as Nagu)

This Neocon World
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we’re manic, reactive and endogenous, as we contemplate fondant, marshmallow, and the practical problem with leaving someone alive. Make sure you’ve paid your poll tax — it’s time for an outing with The Happiness Patrol.
On with the Motley
In our ongoing postal plebiscite, you’ll be voting on which Colin Baker story will be the subject of our next commentary podcast. Take your mind off the horrors of democracy, head over to the shownotes for Episode 121, and cast your vote.
Buy the story!
The Happiness Patrol was released on DVD in 2012. In the US, it was released on its own (Amazon US), while in the UK and Australia, it was inexplicably released as part of the Ace Adventures box set, along with Dragonfire (Amazon UK).
Notes and links
Richard continues to feud with the hosts of the New To Who podcast. They’re all very attractive.
Dog lovers will find today’s upsetting media landscape impossible to navigate without referring to doesthedogdie.com.
The sound, look and feel of this story owes a lot to noirish thriller The Third Man (1949).
Section 28 of the Local Government Act (1988) was a dogshit piece of legislation enacted by the viciously homophobic Thatcher Government that banned the “promotion” of homosexuality. It remained in force in the UK until 2003.
And here’s the Monty Python sketch about Happy Valley, in which anyone unhappy was immediately put to death. Hilariously.
And here’s Nathan’s personal take on the idea of Frocks and Guns in Doctor Who.
Horrifically enough, Richard is right about the term Joy Division being used to refer to the practice of sexual slavery in Nazi labour camps.
Lady Land is the official TV Tropes name for the Planet of Women trope.
Neither Richard nor Nathan have ever even heard of T-Bag, a British TV programme about a weird witch who travelled around time and space collecting weird objects. For the last few years of the show, T-Bag was played by Georgina Hale, our very own Priscilla P. (It’s horrifically bad. Take a look at one of the episodes from Season 3 here.)

Our commentary on The World is Not Enough (1999) will be released this weekend, probably, but while you’re waiting you can enjoy our previous commentaries on the Pierce Brosnan films, and our commentaries on the Timothy Dalton Era.
We also have plenty of Rodgecasts online, and there are other Bonds available, as well. Even the fake ones that weren’t included in the official box set.
You can keep up with all the Bondfinger news on Twitter and Facebook.

And here’s Nathan’s personal take on the idea of Frocks and Guns in Doctor Who.

The Happiness Patrol was released on DVD in 2012. In the US, it was released on its own (Amazon US), while in the UK and Australia, it was inexplicably released as part of the Ace Adventures box set, along with Dragonfire (Amazon UK).
