MUTTER'S SPIRAL Podcast 168 - "The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos"
Mutter's Spiral PodcastIt's DOCTOR WHO Series 11 finale time, and MUTTER'S SPIRAL Podcast has returned to discuss "The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos. John and I explain how we felt about the episode and how it encapsulates the entire series. There's some good, but also some elements that disappoint and frustrate us.
We talk about this new iteration of the show and how it has certainly satisfied some viewers while leaving others, like us, feeling slightly (John) or even moreso (me) let down. We extol the great cast while lamenting the less stellar writing and direction. We dive into it all.
Plus, there's trivia and news (about the show's future and how the podcast will handle ANOTHER huge hiatus between series coming up). Please have a listen!

Episode 229: If We Stop the Podcast, We Die
Trust Your DoctorAt least we only have to do this for the rest of our lives.
Look. I run this podcast. I edit it. I maintain the website. Basically what I’m saying is that it’s my podcast. No one else’s. Am I doing this God Complex thing right? I actually don’t think I am now that I think about it. Close enough. I’ll have to look at Steven Moffat for more examples I guess. It’s The God Complex, written by Toby Whithouse and aired on September 17, 2011.
Show-notes:
1:27 Tension and release is a pretty big tenet of comedy in general and has a history of theory behind it. This article puts at least some if it in perspective.2:15 Can’t believe there are already 13th Doctor books.

Metebelis 2 #98 - Doctor Who and the Scourge of Witchcraft
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Alan Cumming was brilliant as King James and the Metebelis Two want, nay demand his return in in a Gunpowder plot drama to open series 12 and then a 3-part epic finale about the commissioning of the King James' English translation of the Bible. Beyond that, it was great seeing the Doctor have to address now being a woman, Ben kvetches about historical inaccurtaces, and David wonders if they could not afford to hire horses, should they have used coconuts instead? Opening music is from Segun Akinola's score from The Witchfinders as arranged by Paul Crispino, Jr. Closing music is Alan Cumming singing a Sondheim parody song, "No One Is Alive When I'm Around."

Staggering Stories Commentary #219: Doctor Who - Rosa
Staggering Stories PodcastSummary:
Adam J Purcell, Andy Simpkins and Keith Dunn sit down, segregated, in front of the 2018 Doctor Who episode, 'Rosa', and spout our usual nonsense!
Ryan is feeling the sting of history, Graham doesn’t want to be there and the Doctor cannot stop this injustice. But enough of their problems, please sit down with us to enjoy Rosa...
