Doctor Who has such a rich and varied history that, at different times in its development, quite accomplished people in front of and behind the cameras have been overshadowed by other talented people through no real fault of their own.

In this episode, Rob and Dave seek to redress the balance to some degree by naming their cast and crew members who were 'living in the shadows' of others during their time on the show. Examples come from 60s, 70s, 80s, and Nu-Who.

Of course, the episode also features news and mini-topics, including some remarks on the passing of Paul Darrow, who was very dear to Dave and greatly respected by Rob, too.

Have you ever met a kind hearted Ogron?

I’m imagining this as a sort of kids story in the Doctor Who universe for Time Lord children. They sit down because the Ogrons are some sort of myth, and then there’s a very nice Ogron who breaks away from society to be better than everyone else. I’m tearing up just at the thought of it. It’s Flatline, written by Jamie Mathieson and aired on October 18, 2014.

Believe it or not, we're walking on air this month with a voice Doctor Who podcast listeners haven't heard in a while.  This month's guest is former Hoo on Who host, David Hooie!  David stopped by to discuss what he's been up to since leaving the airwaves and of course his love of Doctor Who.

Some news to catch up on plus new stuff. We start with the sad news of the passing of Paul Darrow, the next classic animated movie will be "The Faceless Ones" and in the US, "The End of Time" gets a cinema outing for its 10th anniversary year.

New Character Options figure sets are coming to B&M stores this summer, the next classic Who limited edition blu ray box set will be Season 23, a new book is on the way titled "Star Tales" later this year to coincide with Series 12 and another Big Finish vinyl is out soon - "Wave of Destruction" which will be a Sainsbury's exclusive.

We're always up for reviewing SJA as you know and this week we eagerly kick off Series 3 with this creepy story of Judoon vs Attic crew vs Androvax the Anhiliator. Does this continue the decent scores we've dished out for SJA or is this the downturn we hope wouldn't come?

Several of our wonderful listeners have spotted that our Series 2 episodes are little longer (in the case of #294, a *lot* longer!) than they were back in the olden days. The move to a monthly release schedule has allowed us to record more segments and produce longer episodes.

Not every episode of the DWP will use the multi-segment/multi-host format of #293 to #295 – we will mix it up a little occasionally to keep you (and us) on our collective toes! However, including the “contents” of each Episode in the show notes will allow you to locate/skip to or over a specific segment if you choose. We are looking at introducing chapter markers in future episodes, but in the meantime here is a list of segments in this episode:
