Circuit Boards Glued to a Piece of Wood
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastIt's the start of an exciting new season of Doctor Who. Terry Nation's back and Mary Tamm isn't, but we still manage to pull ourselves together long enough to discuss Destiny of the Daleks.
Buy the story!
Destiny of the Daleks was released on DVD in 2007/2008. That was simple. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)

In 1980, Tom and Lalla recorded a series of Australian ads for minicomputer company Prime Computer. These are available as a DVD extra on the Destiny DVD, but you can also see them on YouTube.
In 1979, Tom recorded a series of three ads for conservation group Keep Australia Beautiful. You can see a terrible videotape copy of two of these on YouTube as well.
The nightmarish scenario of wars run by computer will later be taken up by Matthew Broderick in War Games (1983), which you are all too young to remember. Damn you.
Star Trek's Wil Wheaton interviews Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi on the Series 9 DVD and Blu-ray releases. You can watch some short excerpts from that interview here and here.
Nowadays, the word meme tends to refer to photographs of cats with hilarious writing superimposed on them. However, it was originally coined by Lalla Ward's husband Richard Dawkins to refer to a unit of culture which spreads through imitation.
Chaos on the Bridge is a 2014 documentary written and produced by William Shatner, chronicling the first few difficult years of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It's available on Netflix, and you can rent or buy it on Vimeo.
Mark Michalowski's short story [The Lying Old Witch in the Wardrobe](http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lying_Old_Witch_in_the_Wardrobe_(short_story)) was published in 2003 as part of Big Finish's anthology Short Trips: Companions. It explains -- whimsically -- why Romana regenerates at the start of this story, and suggests that the Romana we see here is not exactly who we expect her to be.
The impasse faced by two perfectly logical computer opponents is an outworking of game theory, used by mathematician John von Neumann to model, among other things, the interactions between the US and the USSR in the Cold War.
The same impasse is also the basis of the short story Fool's Mate, first published in Astounding Science Fiction in March 1953. In this story, two computerised battle fleets are frozen, unable to attack one another, until one decides to put its attack strategy under the control of a complete madman. Which just goes to show, really.

It seems such a long time since there was a new episode of Bondfinger, but don't worry, we'll be releasing a commentary track on Casino Royale (1967) early in February. We mark the podcast’s 2nd birthday with an interview with titan of the TARGET Doctor Who books range Chris Achilleos. 076: Time-Flight
The Krynoid Podcast"It's not exactly dull travelling with the Doctor."
Not normally, Tegan. Not normally...
But this is the season 19 closer, Time-Flight, in which the Doctor seems to be under heavy sedation, OmNyssia knows all the answers, Tegan remains an air hostess (not that she ever hints at this) and Adric is still dead (mercifully).
The Master is at large too, coercing a plane-full of extras into caressing an inner sanctum, wherein lies a battery crammed full of blokes and an orang-utan's family jewels. He also finds time to co-ordinate a platoon of turd men, all while nursing a projectile cold.
But which passenger is Victor Foxtrot? Why is Concorde's progress monitored from a broom cupboard? And why on (prehistoric) Earth is the Master cosplaying as the last Widow Twankey in the job centre, even when he's on his Jack Jones?
Listen in to hear Jim, Martin and special guest Ian Atkins pick through the wreckage.

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 73
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box Podcast
Hey Who fans! We have some short news this week before bounding into our review of The God Complex.
The News
The new spin-off show which is due to air this Autumn is now to be co-produced by BBC America. While originally going to be produced solely by BBC Wales as per the regular show, this is now being made (and also broadcast) with our friends across the pond.
The ever child like 7th Doctor Sylvester McCoy is to check-in to the real life Marigold Hotel. A new documentary on BBC 2 later this month will record the antics of a bunch of senior citizens as they embark on a long holiday to India to see if this is the retirement life for them. Cue much larking about and spoon playing!
“The God Complex” Review
We take a trip back to series 6 now and pull out one of the isolated stories. Themes of faith, fear and goodbyes test the team of The Doctor, Amy and Rory but how do we feel about it? A worthy re-watch or is it best left in room 11?
Thanks for all your thoughts and audio clips. Our review story next week is The Brain of Morbius so remember to give us your reviews on that. Until then – Allons-y!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 165: Best of 2015!
The Oncoming StormThe Oncoming Storm is back from the holidays! Stuffed full of plumb pudding and turkey, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff decide that it's not too late to get away with doing a 2015 retrospective. So with that in mind, they've come with their top 5 releases of 2015, the top 5 subjects covered by the show in 2015, and the top 5 things to look forward to in 2016! But before they can get to all of that, there's all the news out from over the holidays, showing us that we're going to have a Master-ful year in 2016. And, of course, there was a little film called Star Wars that came out over the break, and Ashley... and Jeff... and Josh... can't wait to tell you all about it! The Oncoming Storm... This time, this year, we've got River Song. Just a metric ton of River Song. Just give up, accept it, and welcome our new curly headed overlord.

Doctor Whooch // Episode 077 // The Smell of Pregnancy
Doctor WhoochIn which we're watching Torchwood again and the drinking is more appropriate.
Danica and Brandon are back with their first episode of 2016 with a slurry dissection of the first two episodes of TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH. Or is that Children of Man? Or Men? Brandon is not good with titles, even when he is sober.
There's a lot of great stuff to talk about in this episode, such as Captain Jack's complete inability to comprehend CHILDREN, but we also make time to talk about the recent SHERLOCK special where a white dude explains feminism to a room full of silent women. That'll probably go over well.
Outro music is "Ghetto Superstar" by Pras featuring May & Ol' Dirty Bastard
