Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastWith the Source out of control, nature, they say, reverts to destructive chaos.
This week, Brendan, Nathan and Todd perform the entire podcast in iambic pentameters and wearing stick-on BBC beards. The script is great, the sets are great, the actors are great, and the Master is here too. It’s The Keeper of Traken.
Buy the story!
The Keeper of Traken was released on DVD in 2007. In the US, it was available on its own (Amazon US), but in the UK and Australia, it was part of the New Beginnings box set, which also included Logopolis and Castrovalva (Amazon UK).
Notes and links
This might not make it to the final cut, but we bang on about the Doctor Who Cookbook at the beginning of the raw recording, so here’s a link. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)
Fans of giant exposition dumps will enjoy Space: 1999, which showcases Johnny Byrne’s talents at dumping exposition. Season 1 is worth a watch; Season 2 is a horrific trainwreck. Avoid.
We’ve mentioned this before, but in the late 70s and the early 80s, the BBC produced TV versions of all of Shakespeare’s plays, whose design and direction were terribly similar to the design and direction of this story.
Geoffrey Beevers goes on to have a great post-_Doctor Who_ career as the Master. Fans of his version of the Master will enjoy all of his audiobooks, as well as Big Finish’s Dust Breeding, Master and The Two Masters.

Doctor Who in 10 Seconds
The great unsung hero of Flight Through Entirety is, of course, Brendan, with his crazily brilliant editing skillz. But what don’t you get to see?
To celebrate 100 subscribers to Doctor Who in Ten Seconds, Brendan has chosen to release his blooper reel, and it’s just hilariously wonderful. Fans of Brendan dancing will definitely enjoy this, and so will everyone else. Take a look.

DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 057 - Pink Floyd and Doodlebugs
Diddly Dum PodcastThis week, we have only three Faces of Delusion as, in Matt’s absence, Doc and Hayden attempt a two-hander podcast.
We start with Hayden reminiscing about his weekend at “The Capitol” – the Doctor Who Appreciation Society’s 40th anniversary event. If you’ve ever felt envious of his seeming ability to fall on his feet in any fan situation, then you’ve not heard anything yet as his jamminess soars to new heights.
Then, inspired by last time’s discussion of the “Genesis of the Daleks” LP, we try out the audio-only soundtracks of three Doctor Who stories which we’ve previously only ever watched. Would they work as LPs?
We can also be found on the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 90
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastEpisode 90 brings you the latest Who news, a cool upcoming merch item then it’s onto our review which is the 10th Doctor’s story The Idiot’s Lantern. This way…
The News
Great news for Big Finish, they’ve extended the licence to produce Doctor Who stories until 2025, so bucket loads of new Who stories still to come over the years. To celebrate the upcoming 500th issue of Doctor Who Magazine they are holding an online poll for readers to vote for their favourite cover, right from issue 1 up to now. Head over to their site to cast your votes on some amazing covers that we’ve been treated to for years now.
Merch Corner
You can now pre-order your copy of Torchwood #1 from Titan Comics. Coming by way of 6 variant covers (for now) there’s some nice one’s in there. You can pre-order from Forbidden Planet at the moment, these should be good.
“The Idiot’s Lantern” Review
We weren’t sure how to approach this one really, it’s one that’s been on the shelf un-watched for a long time but is that intentional or is it one of those forgotten gems? We don our slick back hair, brush up on our 50’s London accent and get ready to be either blown away, or get let down like a TV repeat that no one watches.
Thank you for listening and a big hello to our new listeners and old alike. Next week we’re reviewing the 7th Doctor’s story The Greatest Show in the Galaxy and we look forward to your thoughts on that. Have a brilliant week and we’ll catch you next time – Allons-y!

Derrick Sherwin: Interview from L.I.Who 3
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastThere are a litany of reasons why Doctor Who script editor and producer Derrick Sherwin was greeted at the Long Island Doctor Who convention last November as the event's Guest of Honor. He was responsible for the addition of U.N.I.T. to the program during the Patrick Troughton era, as well as the introduction of the sonic screwdriver. He was pivotal in the selection of Troughton's successor, the action-ready and audience-charming Jon Pertwee. And he was adept at balancing the need for an entertaining story (for the entire family) as well as a sound and compelling science fiction tale that resonated with the audience of the time. We were indeed honored ourselves to be able to sit with Mr. Sherwin at LI Who 3, and speak with him for a few moments about his exceptional CV within the program in the 1960s. 109 - Resurrection of a Dalek
Doctor Who: Verity!Back to new Who series 1! Join Deb, Erika, Liz, and Tansy as we talk about Rob Shearman's resurrection of the Doctor's most iconic enemy, the Daleks. We do a little "fanthropology" and talk about how we each felt watching this story when it first aired and whether we feel any different now. It was a turning-point episode for some of us, but does it live up to the memories? Listen and see!
What do you think of "Dalek"? Is it still (or was it ever) amazing? Or does TV from 11 years ago look too different to take as seriously? Let us know in the comments!

Terminus Podcast -- Episode 17 -- I'm Just a Bill: Random Fandom Musings
Terminus: A Doctor Who PodcastOMG, I'm back! Is anyone still out there? *crickets* Um, maybe not. Anyway, it's really good to be back, finally. I've had tons of Big Life Stuff pod-blocking me all year, but I think I'm now in a good place to get back aboard the good-ship Terminus. Admittedly I was a bit under the weather recording the episode, but I was just so determined to get a new episode done and dusted, I went forward with it anyway. Let it be known that many coughs were valiantly sacrificed on the cutting floor, though. So, that was definitely a challenge! Well, that and trying not to slip up and say 'Chinballs' instead of Chibnall, because REASONS.
Anyway, join me on this episode as I talk about my humble little podcast's plans for the year and then also my thoughts about the new companion (as)Bill, the 2017 Doctor Who television hiatus, Steven Moffat leaving as showrunner, and finally Chris Chibnall coming on board as showrunner in his stead. I hope you all will join me and, as always, glad to have you all aboard. Enjoy the ride!
