Extra! - The Oncoming Storm Warning
Doctor Who: Verity! It's an audio-based Extra! this week! Join Deb, Erika, and Liz as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first televised appearance of the 8th Doctor by talking about his first audio appearance! That's right, it's Storm Warning. And because we love Big Finish so much, we digress a LOT and talk about many other Big Finish stories we love--whether they include 8 or not. When it comes to DW audios, it's near-impossible to keep us on track, and we're A-OK with that!
Have you heard Storm Warning? If so, what do you think of it? And do you think it's a good starting place for a new BF listener? Let us know in the comments!

081: The Sensorites
The Krynoid Podcast"I rather fancy that's settled that little bit of solution."
OK, that's Billy going way off piste again but six-part saga The Sensorites is all about solutions.
A remarkably serene Susan is the solution to an impasse on a spaceship, the devious Doctor finds the solution to a municipal malaise and the unlucky Ian drinks a solution which may well have previously passed through half a dozen Sensorites.
These frisbee-footed, central-hearted denizens of the Sense-Sphere are a strange bunch. Even without eyelids, they seem blinkered to everything that's going on. And, ill-equipped as they are for darkness, noise and identity parades, they're hardly the stuff of nightmares, so the late arrival of some subterranean soap-dodgers brings some welcome menace to proceedings.
So is this story as soporific as fan wisdom would have you believe? Well pack some fruit and (clean) water, strap yourselves in and prepare for the long haul and as Jim and Martin slowly sense the solution to that question.

Doctor Who - The High Council Episode 50, Ambassadors of Death Part 6
Doctor Who - The High CouncilEPISODE 50!!!!
It's on collision course! Take EVASIVE ACTION!!! The punchiness comes in as this High Council team drives towards talking over Episode 6. Is it possible that it hasn't been Toby Hadoke this whole time, and it is really David Agnew? Andrew's presence in Greenland caused some issues with this episode, but Gangsters returns to help us through these tough parts. Is this episode also put together from the archives? Is it possible to have CSO in B&W? I don't think so. Please enjoy this episode that ended up wrought with serious recording problems and play close attention to Carrington's mustache till next week.

Fan Fiction Reading 1: Lava Pirates
Trust Your DoctorNot to be confused with Space Pirates.
Hi there. Kiyan here for once (these things are usually written by Dylan). So, like you may already be aware of, the Fourth Doctor retrospective we had planned with Krynoid Podcast has been delayed. I’m almost never sick, so of course I’d come down with fever, cough, and a bunch of other trash a day or so before we planned to record. So the retrospective is still happening, but later. We’re still working out when. Hopefully next week. But in the meantime, since we had nothing else to put out this week, we decided to do… this. In what I guess is our first ever fan fiction reading, Dylan sits down to read through a weird little story I wrote in November 2014 called Lava Pirates. It features several of my favorite First and Second Doctor villains as “lava pirates” on their quest to find the legendary Dalekenium Orb. Hope you enjoy it.

Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastWith the Source out of control, nature, they say, reverts to destructive chaos.
This week, Brendan, Nathan and Todd perform the entire podcast in iambic pentameters and wearing stick-on BBC beards. The script is great, the sets are great, the actors are great, and the Master is here too. It’s The Keeper of Traken.
Buy the story!
The Keeper of Traken was released on DVD in 2007. In the US, it was available on its own (Amazon US), but in the UK and Australia, it was part of the New Beginnings box set, which also included Logopolis and Castrovalva (Amazon UK).
Notes and links
This might not make it to the final cut, but we bang on about the Doctor Who Cookbook at the beginning of the raw recording, so here’s a link. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)
Fans of giant exposition dumps will enjoy Space: 1999, which showcases Johnny Byrne’s talents at dumping exposition. Season 1 is worth a watch; Season 2 is a horrific trainwreck. Avoid.
We’ve mentioned this before, but in the late 70s and the early 80s, the BBC produced TV versions of all of Shakespeare’s plays, whose design and direction were terribly similar to the design and direction of this story.
Geoffrey Beevers goes on to have a great post-_Doctor Who_ career as the Master. Fans of his version of the Master will enjoy all of his audiobooks, as well as Big Finish’s Dust Breeding, Master and The Two Masters.

Doctor Who in 10 Seconds
The great unsung hero of Flight Through Entirety is, of course, Brendan, with his crazily brilliant editing skillz. But what don’t you get to see?
To celebrate 100 subscribers to Doctor Who in Ten Seconds, Brendan has chosen to release his blooper reel, and it’s just hilariously wonderful. Fans of Brendan dancing will definitely enjoy this, and so will everyone else. Take a look.
You can subscribe to the entire series on YouTube.
