Metebelis 2 #73 - Those Must Be Actual Hired Monsters
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Once again Ben and David discuss cliffhangers and this time they delve into the wonderful Jon Pertwee era. How is it that Mac Hulke can reuse the same cliffhanger four times in a row? What is it about lava that is so scary? Are Silurians or Sea Devils more suspensful? Does David have a fear of Autons? Despite getting confused one or two times on where they were in their count, the lads had an thoughly enjoyable talk about the show in the early 1970s. Opening music is by Cary Blyton from "Doctor Who and the Silurians" soundtrack and closing music is by Malcom Clarke from "The Sea Devils" soundtrack.

Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastEveryone has their phobias, be they great or small. For some, they focus on mortal dangers, like heights, open waters, small spaces. For others, they are rooted in the misunderstood or the alien, such as snakes, French mimes, or spiders. So what is the Doctor’s fear? What is that one flaw in their character that could be exploited so adeptly by a powerful adversary, that even they are found without rebuttal, without a plan, without a solution? It’s rats, isn’t […]

Episode 194: Some Semblance of a Budget
Trust Your DoctorWe’ve come far since the days of styrofoam avalanches … but not that far.
This is the longest episode we’ve put out in a long time. It’s over an hour and a half long, and somehow it’s actually sort of interesting for the entire episode, which is really saying something. Remember our War Games episode? Good times. It’s Utopia, The Sound of Drums, and Last of the Time Lords, written by Russell T. Davies and aired on June 16, 23 and 30th, 2007.
Show-notes:
11:58 Stop Crying Your Heart Out is really one of Oasis’ worst songs.
27:26 Yeah, Derek Jacobi has a pretty extensive career.
29:03 As does John Simm.
50:35 Rose gets a TARDIS key in Aliens of London.
1:03:13 Here’s the scene from Watchmen. And here’s the equally-bad one from Ironman.
1:06:01 Tom Ellis is Lucifer. Lucifer is Tom Ellis.
1:09:48 Rolanda Hooch is played by Zoe Wanamaker, who plays Cassandra in series 1 and 2.
1:13:26 Plo Koon. He’s Plo Koon.
1:18:26 The mirror universe from Star Trek sounds pretty “cool” I guess.

ReGeneration Who 4 with Simon Fraser & William Russell
Who and CompanyThis month, we look back at our time at this year's (Re)Generation Who 4 convention in Baltimore, Maryland featuring many guests including Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and the first public appearance of Peter Capaldi since leaving the role of the Doctor! And if that's not exciting enough, we were very fortunate to grab a 10 minute interview with none other than Ian Chesterton himself, William Russell, discussing his time on The Adventures of Sir Lancelot!
After that, you can hear our live panel with comic artist Simon Fraser discussing what it's like to draw the Eleventh Doctor and why he chose Star Trek: Enterprise as his classic TV show.
All that and a recap from us of this year's fantastic convention.
