Metebelis 2 #75 - She's Sonic Screwdriver Ready
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2The second Paul McGann Big Finish story, "Sword of Orion", is the focus of this week's podcast. Ben and David examine this early Nick Briggs story in both its presentations: the aforementioned 2001 Big Finish production and the earlier Audio Visuals production featuring Briggs, himself as the Doctor. What happens when "Aliens" is mixed with "The Long Good Friday" and seasoned with a liberal dose of Cyber history and callbacks? How does the introduction of a companion, Charley Pollard, impact the original script? Thoughts on these questions and more in this week's episode. Opening and closing music from the "Sword of Orion" Big Finish soundtrack, composed by Nick Briggs.

Untempered Schism Podcast #179 : The Time of Angels, Flesh and Stone
The Untempered Schism PodcastIt’s the second time (at least in a TV story) that the Doctor has encountered the Weeping Angels, as well as the second time (also at least on TV) that he’s met his wife (though he doesn’t know that yet). It’s the first time that Amy’s met her daughter (though she doesn’t know that yet), and who knows how many times River has met the Doctor or Amy by now. The one thing that this story leaves us asking once it’s all done is; does a church that’s been militarized have access to a Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch?

Tim's Take On: Episode 432(Doctor Who Robot mini review)
Tim's Take On...This week my classic series re-watch reaches Doctor Who: Robot and the debut of my Doctor Tom Baker. I've no idea which of his stories I saw first but I have a bit of a mull around that point at the beginning of this week's episode.

TDP 762: #DoctorWho Main Range @BigFinish -237 Heliax Rift
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast reviews 237. THE HELLIAX RIFT It feels like a return to the original @BigFinish audios. All bets are off with a new UNIT team. Spooky and emotionally centered. Daniel Hopkins thought he knew what he was letting himself in for when he joined the top-secret UNIT organisation as its latest Medical Officer. Racing about the countryside, chasing strange lights in the sky? Check. Defending the realm against extraterrestrial incursion? Check. Frequent ear-bashings from UNIT's UK CO, the famously no-nonsense Lt-Col Lewis Price? Check. Close encounters of the First, Second and even Third kind? Check, check, check. But he had no idea what alien beings were really like. Until the day of the Fallen Kestrel. Until the day he met the Doctor. Written By: Scott Handcock Directed By: Jamie Anderson Cast Peter Davison (The Doctor), Blake Harrison (Lieutenant Daniel Hopkins), Russ Bain (Lieutenant-Colonel Lewis Price), Genevieve Gaunt (Corporal Linda Maxwell), Deborah Thomas (Annabel Morden), Anna Louise Plowman (Dr Jennifer Harrison), Robbie Stevens (Morris), Jacob Dudman (Samuel). Other parts played by members of the cast. Producer Scott Handcock Script Editor Alan Barnes

Classic Rewatch: Robot
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastThe Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines madness as ‘behavior or thinking that is very foolish or dangerous’, whereas the term eccentricity is ‘deviation from an established pattern or norm; especially odd or whimsical behavior’. With that in mind, we choose to revise the offhand way we have previously referred to one of the most iconic actors ever to portray The Doctor. With sincerest apologies to Tom Baker, we simply didn’t think that calling his Fourth Doctor merely ‘eccentric’ did him justice…but his […]
