Mark presents us with his back catalogue of “Doctor Who Bulletin” fanzines and Rob presents us with his copy of “The Doctor Who Technical Manual”.

SHOWNOTES
(00:00:00) You’ll note that, in a fit of nostalgia promoted by the podcast 100 memoryfest, we’ve reverted to the original Diddly Dum Podcast theme music which opened our very first podcast. Put together by our own Al No and once described as “the Sisters of Mercy meets Delia Derbyshire”.
(00:01:18) The short story being read out by Doc here is “Roses” from DWM214, written by this week’s guest, Rob. See the shownote below at 01:08:56.
(00:01:57) Our guests this week are Rob and Mark of the “42 to Doomsday” podcast whose blog can be found here, and who can be found on Twitter here and on Facebook here.
(00:25:10) The day pink shorts helped to fight for democracy in Adelaide.
(00:57:12) “Doctor Who Bulletin” began life in the early 1980s as an amateur fanzine dedicated to Doctor Who.
(01:01:56) John Nathan Turner chomping on a copy of “Doctor Who Bulletin”.
(01:08:45) All the references to Doctor Who Magazine issue 214 (July 1994) arise from “Roses”, a short story which Rob had published on page 34 as part of DWM’s “Brief Encounters” series. A scan of the page can be found on our Tumblr page here. At this week’s podcast opens, Doc can be found reading out the start of this story this week just before Rob and Mark ring the doorbell.
(01:09:07) A scan of the “DWB Interview File” advertisement from DWM214 be found on our Tumblr page here.
(01:19:04) A scan of the “Fanzine Trap” feature from DWM214 can be found on our Tumblr page here.
(01:24:57) “The Doctor Who Technical Manual” was a Doctor Who reference book published by in 1983 and written by Mark Harris. Scans of a few pages can be found on our Tumblr page here.
(01:29:52) “The Doctor Who Pattern Book“ was an activity book published by W.H. Allen in 1987 and written by Mark Harris. The pictures used on Rob and Mark’s blog can be found here.
(01:31:08) “Doctor Who and the Daleks Omnibus”, edited by Daleks creator Terry Nation, was a British omnibus book published in 1976, especially for Marks and Spencer. It featured a collection of articles and photographs related to the Daleks as they had appeared in Doctor Who, as well as abridged and illustrated reprints of the novelisations of “Doctor Who and the Planet of the Daleks” and “Doctor Who and the Genesis of the Daleks” by Terrance Dicks. The anatomy of a Dalek cutaway can be seen on our Tumblr page here.
(01:34:04) “Build the TARDIS” was an activity book published by Target Books and W. H. Allen.

Untempered Schism Podcast #188 : The Scorchies
The Untempered Schism PodcastThey always say that television will rot your brain, or at least cause you to ruin your eye site. When it comes the Scorchies the situation is much more dire, as Jo is quickly finding out. Surrounded by homicidal puppets who are using TV to destroy the world (and break into song), she has to both survive and keep them distracted long enough to save the day.

Metebelis 2 #90 - Make Sheffield Great Again
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Sneaking in right before the Series 11 debut, Ben and David have their preview for the new series featuring Jodie Whittaker and Sheffield. The lads talk about the new writers based on the little they know about their past works and then examine the two series 11 trailers... frame-by-frame. Lots of wild speculation and idle predictions about what the new series will have in store for Doctor Who fandom. Opening music is a 1960s Radio Sheffield theme by David Cain of the BCC Radiophonic Workshop. Closing music is an excerpt from Matt Berry's just released Acid Jazz rendition of our favourite theme.

Doctor Who - Ep204: Goodbye One Before Hello Thirteen
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastWelcome to Episode 204...
The News
Series 13 gets its Sunday evening time slot confirmed and our friends in Canada also get their broadcast time confirmed.Merch Corner
A new 4th Doctor audio adventure is on the way from the BBC and the 13th Doctor is making an appearance in the Eaglemoss figurine magazine."The Tenth Planet" Review
We thought it would be fitting to do a Hartnell story for two reasons; one, we haven't done a Hartnell story in ages and two, it seems fitting to go back and look at his farewell story just before we say hello to the 13th Doctor. Lots of snow, bad American accents and those awesome Mondasian Cybermen. All good or is this one a bit cold? Thank you so much for joining us for 204. Next week we'll finally reviewing the first episode from series 11 - The Woman Who Fell to Earth! Until then have a brilliant week and until next time - Allons-y!

TDP 794: Jenny The Doctors Daughter Vol 1 from @BigFinish
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast reviews the surprisingly good #Jenny The Doctors Daughter #Doctorwho Vol 1 from @BigFinish A brilliant bit of escapism and guaranteed to bring a smile Jenny is brand new to the universe. Born a soldier, made for war, she has a Time Lord's heritage. Luckily, that Time Lord is the Doctor. She's ready to save planets, fight monsters, and save the day, using nothing but her bravery, wit and instinct - and an awful lot of running. 1.1 Stolen Goods by Matt Fitton Jenny is new to the universe and keen to explore - but in unfamiliar spaceships, accidents happen. She's lucky to have someone on-hand to help. A slippery, fast-talking someone, called Garundel. Soon, Jenny is mixed up in cons and explosions. But she also finds something strange, inexplicable, and as new to universe as she is. She'll call him Noah. 1.2 Prisoner of the Ood by John Dorney Moving into Leafield Crescent, Angie Glazebrook is surprised by an unexpected caller. But not half as surprised as Jenny, suddenly transported to a suburban close on twenty-first century Earth. And that's nothing to the surprise of the neighbours when alien visitors start appearing. Visitors with tentacled mouths, carrying death-dealing orbs. The Ood have come for their prisoner... 1.3 Neon Reign by Christian Brassington The Dragon Lord rules Kamshassa with fear. Half the oppressed population live in an addicted stupor, while the other half are forced into service. Factories belch poisonous smoke, and Dragon Guards patrol the streets, condemning dissenters to the Eternal Fire. When Jenny and Noah arrive, it's only a matter of time before they start a revolution. 1.4 Zero Space by Adrian Poynton Out in deep space, in the middle of - quite literally - nowhere, Jenny and Noah believe they've found a safe haven. And, very possibly, some answers. But the space station holds many secrets, and it won't be long before Jenny's past catches her up. Bounty hunter COLT-5000 is on her trail and will stop at nothing to hunt down its quarry... even in Zero Space! Written By: Matt Fitton, John Dorney, Christian Brassington, Adrian Poynton Directed By: Barnaby Edwards Cast Georgia Tennant (Jenny), Sean Biggerstaff (Noah), Sian Phillips(COLT-5000),Stuart Milligan (Garundel), Sarah Woodward (Vesh Taralesh), Clare Corbett (Lukaku), Arabella Weir (Angie Glazebrook), Silas Carson (Ood Leader), Rosalyn Landor(Vanessa Elledge), Olivia Darnley (Emily Cole), John Dorney (John Macguire), Pik-Sen Lim (Old Woman), Arina II (Shoon-Wei), Sara Houghton (Alitta), Paul Courtenay Hyu (Po), Adele Anderson(Dreyda), Anthony Calf (Cal). Extra! - Liz in the Hot Seat
Doctor Who: Verity! It's time for our final "hot seat" of the year! Join Erika and Lynne as we put many questions to Lizbeth, and she answers them all. She mentions lots of very interesting media, so we recommend listening with Google close at hand if you're interested in chasing down some of her recommendations!
We also announce our new release schedule: for Series 11, we'll be pushing our podcast-drop-day back by one. Instead of Wednesday morning (North American time), Verity! will be hitting your pod-feeds on Thursday mornings. (Scheduling across five time zones is hard, y'all!)
