We've arrived at the first major hurdle to watching Old Who -- missing episodes, of which Marco Polo is the first, with zero footage remaining. So how did we "watch?" Audio (lifted by passionate fans and gifted back to BBC), narration (by one of the surviving cast members, William Russell), telesnaps (we explain) and the Target novelization. None of which make us miss it any less. [Tech note: We record over Skype and this week's feed was not ideal. Couldn't be fixed, so we apologize and promise to do what we can to prevent it in the future.]

    RASSIFAN!

Join the Rassiboys as they dissect episode six (or seven!) of this series 11 of The Doctor Whose.

It’s another racially charged one, but they advisedly steer clear of “solving” anything this episode and instead concentrate on the ‘main man’ of this story - that’s right, YAZ!

Did we drink from the depths of Lake Yaz and find a sparkling, thirst quenching soup, with satisfying innards (it you’ll pardon the mixed metaphor)? (Spoiler: no)

Thanks for your contributions, we appreciate it!

From Partition to prostate (again), via EPs and disappointment...

Lady/gent/grim reaper, put your hands together and welcome little baby Rassilon into your ears...

It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until February 28th 2019, and on general sale after this date. Four new brand-new full-cast Blake's 7 adventures set during the TV series' third season, following directly on from events in the Crossfire trilogy, 5.1 Damage Control by Trevor Baxendale Damaged beyond repair, the Liberator is hurtling out of control. With Zen down, Avon injured and Tarrant losing his mind, what can the crew hope to achieve in the time they have left? 5.2 The Hunted by Iain McLaughlin In a stolen ship, Avon and Vila try to hold off a fleet led by the President of the Federation, buying time for Dayna, Tarrant and Cally to scavenge parts to save the Liberator. 5.3 Figurehead by Scott Harrison With the Liberator crippled and vulnerable, Tarrant and Cally are given just twenty-four hours to end the violence on Gamma Vynos II or kill the person responsible: Avalon. 5.4 Abandon Ship by Steve Lyons The Liberator is falling apart. Its life support systems are failing. The ship can no longer sustain five crewmembers. But who will stay and who will leave? Both options seem equally deadly... 17:16 (GMT) - 28 Jan 2019

It is indeed the MOST WONDERFUL TIME... OF THE YEAR!  That's right, the annual Gallifrey One Convention, the world's largest (and best) Doctor Who Convention is just around the corner, and MUTTER'S SPIRAL Podcast will be previewing the convention in full this week!  It's the 30th edition of the con; it's John's 15th and my 13th (and the podcast's 9th!); and it looks to be another corker of a weekend!

We'll talk all about the great guests (Including CATHERINE TATE, PEARL MACKIE, JOHN BARROWMAN, COLIN BAKER, and many more!), the fantastic fan panels (including the 2 John will be on), and of course the many other amazing highlights to come (THIS or THAT, FAN VIDEO HAPPY HOUR, IN DEFENSE OF, the ACADEMIC TRACK, and so much else).

It's our annual deep dive into and through the schedule.  We're super excited for Gally, and we hope to give listeners a taste of what's to come this year!  Also,  John finds out what game, featured in a panel at this year's Gally, that I've NEVER played, which stuns him while i promise to maybe, perhaps, possibly try to participate in one of the other great games.  So, it's chock full of Wibbly-Wobbly Timey-Wimey Stuff!

We will also be doing 2 more previews of Gally: one with Joy Piedmont and Paul Booth, focused on the "Time Lord Timelines: An Academic Symposium", the Academic Track that they've put together (dropping Thursday); and one with our great friends Kim Rogers and Sage Young of HeadoverFeels.com for next week that'll discuss in detail THIS or THAT, FAN VIDEO HAPPY HOUR, the FanFic panel, the Doctor Who/Musicals crossover panel and more.

This is a remake of the original 1970s Death Wish film starring Charles Bronson which spawned a whole franchise of 5 films that started in 1974 and wrapped up in 1994. If you can remember the 1980s, you weren't really there... and this week Ben and David try to prove they really were part of the 1980s. Ben and David try to recall memories of Doctor Who through the JN-T era when they were busy with their young adult lives and not so interested in their favourite show. Is there a connection between tele-fantasy and sci-fi? Is playing Dungeons & Dragons a prerequisite for being in 1980s Doctor Who fandom? Was BBC Controller Michael Grade's decision to cancel, then put the show on hiatus a good thing? Did he fire the right man? And, do the Two even remember the hiatus happening or the casting of McCoy and Aldred as the last Doctor-companion duo of the programme's original run? Opening is from The Trial of the Time Lord: The Mysterious Planet score and closing music is from Dragonfire score, both composed by Dominic Glynn.

Can anyone find Cronus? Zeus needs to be put in a time out.

You know, Doctor Who really likes to tell us how many people is the right number, and it turns out it’s three. Which means that our podcast is one man short, and that further means that only our crossovers are “correct” in Doctor Who’s eyes. But you know, I don’t think either of us really care. It’s The Power of Three, written by Chris Chibnall and aired on September 22, 2012.

    Show-notes:

19:28 SIDRAT made its first appearance in The War Games.
